1 TECHNICAL PARTNER THREE-YEAR PROFESSIONAL PIANO COURSE PROF. ROBERTO PLANO Prof. Giuseppe Merli, Assistant REGULATIONS FOR 2013/2014 The Course is open to pianists from all over the world and takes place at the Teatro Santuccio in Varese (Via Sacco, 10) on a F212 Fazioli piano thanks to the collaboration between the Fazioli Company and the Accademia Musicale Varesina. Admission and attendance will be governed by the following rules: Admission The selection will be based on the applicant's biography, which will need to be sent together with the Application Form. Those who have already attended the course of Prof. Plano at the Accademia Musicale Varesina during the 2012/2013 academic year will be automatically admitted. Registration The application form (attached) has to be filed on or before October 4, 2013 and sent to the following address; accademia@associazionecortot.org, together with the proof of payment of 30 Euros (non-refundable application fee), copy of Passport, biography and a high resolution jpeg picture (artistic). The names of the admitted candidates will be announced during the Opening Concert, scheduled for Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 11 am at the Teatro Santuccio of Varese, and subsequently included on the web pages of the Associazione Cortot. Lesson calendar academic year 2013/2014 The course will begin in October, 2013 and will end June, The teacher will decide the lessons calendar and notify the admitted students. Twelve individual lessons with Roberto Plano will be provided, plus three weekends of lessons and public performances with the Assistant Giuseppe Merli will be organized as follows:

2 1st weekend: dedicated to the typical program of a competition first round, with special emphasis on studies; 2nd weekend: dedicated to the classical Sonata; 3rd weekend: dedicated to the Concertos for piano and orchestra. Attendance fees academic year 2013/2014 The attendance fee, for the amount of 1.200,00, can be deposited as a single payment by October 15, 2013, or in two payments (each being half of the full amount), the first payable by October 15, 2013, and the second by February 15, Payment details The application and attendance fee have to be paid by bank wire to the following account: BANCA POPOLARE DI BERGAMO Agency of Travedona Monate - Via Roma 1 IBAN: IT 68 R Account holder: Associazione Musicale Alfred Cortot BIC/SWIFT CODE: BEPOIT21 Attendance requirement Unexcused absences that exceed 30% of the course will result in suspension of the student and in the uneligibility to obtain the Certificate of Attendance after each year and the Final Diploma after three years; however, students will have the possibility to combine two lessons in one (twice at the maximum). In case of withdrawal during the academic year the attendance fee is non-refundable. Course duration and organization The course lasts three years; at the end of it there will be a Final Diploma with the following program: - A recital program lasting between 80 and 90 minutes, including: a composition of the Baroque period an Etude by Chopin, Liszt, Scriabin, Rachmaninov, Prokofiev or Debussy a Sonata by Mozart, Haydn, Clementi or Beethoven an important composition by Schubert, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt or Brahms an important composition of french or russian repertoire a composition written after A classical Concerto for piano and orchestra - A romantic Concerto per piano and orchestra The whole program will be executed from memory (except for the composition written after 1950), and the concerts will be performed with the accompaniment of the second piano. Students who have already attended the course of Prof. Plano at the Accademia Musicale Varesina during the academic years 2011/12 and 2012/13 will be allowed to apply for the Final Diploma at the end of the current academic year.

3 Those who have attended the course of Prof. Plano at the Accademia Musicale Varesina during the academic year 2012/13 will be allowed to apply for the Final Diploma at the end of the academic year 2014/15. Performing Opportunities At the conclusion of the course, based on the teacher s unquestionable judgement, the best students will be awarded recital opportunities for several concert seasons (Associazione Musicale Alfred Cortot - Rassegna Le Schubertiadi del Lago and Note di Lago - in cooperation with the String Quartet Class of the Stauffer Academy in Cremona -, ENDAS, Varese - Rassegna Giovani Talenti alla Ribalta, Centre Musical Intermezzo (Nernier, France), Associazione Kymbala - Teramo, Rassegna Ascolta la Ciociaria - Frosinone, Associazione Ethos - Palermo, Associazione Culturale Musiconcerto Milano, etc.. Travel expenses for the recital will be reimbursed. The Academy, in collaboration with the town of Travedona Monate and the Teatro Santuccio in Varese, will invite selected students to perform at additional concerts and events during the year. Auditors A payment of 180,00 is required for those who wish to attend the course only as auditors, to be payed before or on October 15, 2013.
