Preliminary course for electric guitar Renato Spadari The course deals with the study of features, characteristics, peculiarities of the guitar in the modern-contemporary repertoire The course is addressed to those who are interested in knowing and going through the instrument at various level of preparation Period: July 13 th 17 th Mon-Fri - one lesson a day for each participant Fee: 200,00-150,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. 2. KI Training course for musicians Renato Spadari The course offers a path to improve creative and executive performance on one s own instrument and to work both on relaxation and concentration techniques, useful for study and work The course is open to all musicians over 16 years age Period: July 13 th 17 th Mon-Fri group lessons am Specific requirements: comfortable clothing, exercise mat/blanket Fee: 180,00-150,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. 3. Romanticism and surroundings Paolo Gilardi The course is dedicated to the romantic repertoire for piano and piano chamber music ensemble (including piano duet with two pianos): from Beethoven and Schubert to Chopin and Schumann, to Brahms, Rachmaninov, Fauré, Granados, etc.
2 The course is open to all the musician enrolled in Afam courses (or equivalent titles for foreign students). Students attending pre-academic courses will be admitted only upon audition. Mon-Fri 45 min. individual lessons for each participant every day Soloist Fee: 200,00-150,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. Ensemble Fee: 300 (from duet to quintet) for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. 4. Non-jazz workshop of group improvisation Francesco Zago The course aims to deepen and experiment the group improvisation techniques; to explore and eventually widen the possibilities of everyone s instrument with improvisation purposes; to focus on the ensemble work and the real-time interaction among musicians; to use improvisation either for strictly concert purpose or functional ones (space sonorization, music for images, videos, theatre, etc.). The workshop does not deal with jazz improvisation. The course is dedicated to students learning any acustic-electric-informatic instrument or to singers. A good technical knowledge of the instrument and a specific attitude or interest in improvisation are at least required. Lessons will be in English. Mon-Fri group lessons 8 hours a day Fee: 300,00-250,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. 5. The Italian belcanto : technique and executive praxis Roberto Coviello and Loris Peverada The course offers the study of the vocal technique, as well as analysis and execution of complete operas or part of them, from the Italian repertoire. The course is open to singers and pianists. Period: July 20 th 24 th Mon-Fri group or individual lessons Fee: 350,00-300,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. I learn to sing with Donizetti Claudia Pane The course consists in telling a story to children: L Elisir d amore of Donizetti. Let s help Nemorino to conquer the beautiful Adina.. but the tale cannot go further if children do not learn the opera pieces which will be executed in tonalities whose extensions can be easily reached by them too. The course is dedicated to primary school children. No musical knowledge required. Period: July 6 th 9 th Mon-Thur 1,30 h group lesson every day Fee: 80,00-60,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. 9. All what I need I ve learnt from Rossini Claudia Pane All the elements of the musical language rhythm, melody, tonality, modulation, etc. can be learnt also while playing and amusing! Children will sing Rossini s Il Barbiere di Siviglia (in tonalities appropriate for their young voices), will analyze pieces, disassembling them, thus learning how music works. Children will be provided by piece written on staves with choir words and text. The course is dedicated to children and young people who have attended at least one year of theory and solfège. Period: July 6 th 9 th Mon-Thur 1,30 h group lesson every day Fee: 80,00-60,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C.
4 10. I learn to read the music with Puccini Claudia Pane All the elements of the musical language rhythm, melody, tonality, modulation, etc. can be learnt also while playing and amusing! Participants will sing Puccini s Gianni Schicchi (in tonalities appropriate for their young voices), will analyze pieces, disassembling them, thus learning how music works. Children will be provided by piece written on staves with choir words and text. The course is dedicated to young people able to read the music. Period: July 6 th 9 th Mon-Thur 1,30 h group lesson every day Fee: 80,00-60,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. 11. Dialogue of Music by Antonfrancesco Doni Pietro Modesti The course will focus on the Dialogue of Music by Antonfrancesco Doni and participants will work on three different peculiarities: study and analysis of the musical material; author s and work s historical context; public performance. The course is open to singers and instrumentalists. Mon-Fri am 5 pm every day Fee: 350,00-300,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. 12. The natural horn Ermes Pecchinini During the course participants will have the opportunity to play on natural instruments of baroque and classical age. Through an analytic reading of the Divertissement K522 Ein musikalischer Spaβ (written for 2 violins, viola, bass and 2 horns), which will be performed during the seminary, Mozart s chamber music will be analyzed. Participants will have the opportunity to suggest other musical pieces of the same composition s period and having similar musical staff, which will be studied and performed during the course. The course is open to all those who are interested in discovering the ancient horn. Period: July 14 th 16 th Tue-Thur 6 h group lessons every day Fee: 200,00-150,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. 13. Musical Journalism Techniques Maurizio Franco The course starts from the personal experience of the teacher and deals with the editing both of articles having specific journalistic characteristics and scientific essays. A view on broadcast journalism, as well as on the main problems emerging while preparing a press release. The course will face both theory and practice, paying particular attention to media characteristics and to the different end-users, suggesting a meditation on the need to use different languages, according to the chosen goals, even with texts having the same nature. The course is open to people having musical and/or journalistic skills.

Jazz guitar, the modal pentatonic system Giovanni Monteforte The course is dedicated to adult guitar players, having an average musical experience in all musical fields, interested in analyzing either the fundamental elements of jazz guitar, or its most specific aspects. Mon-Fri group lessons 3.00 pm 7.00 pm Fee: 200,00-180,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. / Civici Corsi di Jazz 15. Jazz Guitar Riccardo Bianchi The course intends to go deeper into the vertical and horizontal knowledge of the instrument, in order to improve the approach aiming to jazz improvisation style, merging tradition and personal content. The course is open to jazz guitarists and all the musicians and singers interested in the construction modalities of jazz phrasing and its lexical items. Period: July 13 th 17 th Mon-Fri group lessons 2.00 pm 6.00 pm Fee: 250,00-200,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. / Civici Corsi di Jazz 16. Jazz piano Mario Rusca The course aims to face the armonic analysis to build improvisation, accompaniment and performance on standards of the jazz repertoire. The course is open to all piano players interested in going deeper into the jazz improvisation practice. Mon-Fri group lessons 3.00 pm 7.00 pm Fee: 200,00-180,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. / Civici Corsi di Jazz 17. Time Percussion Tony Arco e Marco Vaggi The course aims to go deeper into the connections between rhythm and melody, percussions and vocalization: the most instinctual and involving expressions of the musical experience.
6 All the participants will work to connect vocal and percussive expression, using movement and emotions as a common starting point to play all together. The material used for the masterclass will range from jazz repertoire to various musical traditions. Every participant will have the opportunity to analyze both vocal and percussive aspects. The course is open to all instrumentalists. Period: July 7 th 10 th Tue-Fri group lessons am 1.00 pm / pm Fee: 300,00-250,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. / Civici Corsi di Jazz 18. Different improvisation? Workshop of improvised music - extemporaneous composition - live electronics Enrico Intra Goal of the course is to pass the improvisation of jazz provenience on traditional schemes and harmonies. The course is open to all instrumentalists. The knowledge of the instrument and a basic improvisation practice are required. Period: July 20 th 24 th Mon-Fri group lessons am 2.00 pm Fee: 300,00-250,00 for students registered at curricular courses of Civica Scuola di Musica C. / Civici Corsi di Jazz Registration within June 29 th Registration and payment for each course have to be carried out contextually. The course won t be activated in case the minimum number of students is not achieved. The fee will be then refunded.
