4 2/2 Feb 6, 2015 New features Video Delay Compensation Video Delay Compensation (VDC) can be set for each group individually in the Group definitions. Maximum amount of the VDC changes depending on how much delay has been used for the time-of-flight compensation or other purposes. The available free delay is available for the VDC. Figure 1. VDC reading is shown in the status bar Support for a Mouse Wheel When the main GLM screen is active the mouse wheel adjusts the system level. Standard mouse wheel resolution step for adjusting the volume is 0.5 db. Holding the Shift key down while rotating the mouse wheel adjusts the volume faster, with 1.0 db step size. Compatibility with Genelec SAMs GLM 2.0 software now supports the following products: monitors models 8320A, 8330A, 8240A, 8250A, 8351A, 8260A, 1238CF, 1237A, 1238A, subwoofer models 7350A, 7260A, 7270A, 7271A. The GLM 2.0 software calibrates and controls Genelec SAM monitors and subwoofers using Genelec Network Adapter model (shown in the picture). Genelec Network Interface models and B are not supported with GLM 2.0 software. This update is highly recommended for all GLM 2.0 users. PC requirements: Operating systems: Windows 8 or 8.1 (32 or 64 bit), Windows 7 SP1 or newer (32 or 64 bit), Vista, XP. Processor: Intel Pentium or compatible, 1.6 GHz minimum. GPU*: supports DirectX 11.0 class or better. RAM: 2 GB minimum. Disk space: 1 GB minimum. Display: 1024 x 768 or higher-resolution monitor. Internet connection for the software download**. The OS X activates the App Nap feature when the application is completely hidden from the normal view and not actively working. App Nap causes various problems with the GLM software. A connection between the GLM software and SAM monitors will be lost when App Nap is activated. Here are instructions how to prevent App Nap to activate for GLM: 1. Open Applications/Genelec/GLMv2 folder. 2. Control and click GLM2.app Application.

Launch GLM again Compatibility with Genelec SAM Systems The GLM 2.0 software supports the following products: SAM Monitors: 8240A, 8250A, 8260A, 8320A, 8330A, 8351A, 1237A, 1238A, 1238CF, 1234A SAM Subwoofers: 7260A, 7270A, 7271A, 7350A Symmetrical Placement Equalizer A Symmetrical Placement Equalizer is now available in AutoCal. The Symmetrical Placement Equalizer compensates for the room effects that exist in both monitors in a stereo pair. This feature is selected as the default and will be automatically used for each front Left-Right monitor pair when the monitor pair is placed symmetrically in the grid (see the example below for monitors in L6 / R6 or L1 / R1). To calculate individualized monitor equalizations, remove the check mark in Each front Left-Right pair shares the same equalizer settings. Note also that the monitor models used in the stereo pair must be the same for the Symmetrical Placement Equalizer to be applied. If the monitor models are not the same, then individual equalization will be used. Genelec always recommends using the same monitor model is a stereo pair. 11 2/2 August 12, 2015 Bug Fixes GLM Network Adapter opening bug in Windows. GLM did not recognized the GLM Network Adapter in some Windows PC s. 7350A Acoustic editor drawing bug. The 7350A Acoustic editor was only drawing the filtered response (blue line). 7260A optimization bug. The 7260A was not recognized by the optimization algorithm. Group data folder creation bug. The Group data folder which contains the measured room responses was not always systematically created. This error caused missing room and optimized responses display in the acoustic editor window. 14 GLM 2.0 Release Note January 13, 2016 New Features Setup file format change IMPORTANT NOTICE: The GLM Setup file format will change in this latest GLM version. This means that any setup files written or saved with the GLM version cannot be opened with earlier GLM versions. However, Setup files written or saved with earlier GLM versions can be opened with version and future releases. Support for SE System (SE7261A) Subwoofer GLM 2.0 version will now support SE7261A subwoofer. When GLM finds an SE7261A subwoofer in the GLM network, it will automatically create, by default, 8x (eight) SE Monitors (8130) to control the SE7261A subwoofer outputs. If the SE System is only a stereo system, then un-used SE monitors (8130) must be placed in the Not used in this setup bin displayed on the software Layout page. NOTE: When using a SE7261A subwoofer with digital input 8130 monitors, the correct AES/EBU channel needs to first be pre-selected in each 8130 monitor manually. Layout page - Not used in this setup bin If there is a need to leave one or more monitors (8130) out of the SE System setup, it can be done by dragging and dropping each 8130 monitor icon into the Not used in this setup bin. The monitors moved in this bin will not be visible later in the final setup.

15 GLM 2.0 Release Note January 13, 2016 Information page for the GLM Adapter The information page for the GLM adapter can be opened by double clicking on the GLM adapter icon on the software main page. The adapter firmware can be directly updated from this page. GLM Adapter Information Name: name of the adapter Model: model of the adapter Firmware version: current firmware version The text above the button Update Firmware indicates if there is a firmware update available and if the firmware is up-to-date. Press the Update Firmware button to start firmware update and wait until the update is completed. Microphone Status: connected or disconnected microphone. Serial: microphone serial number stored in the adapter Peak Level: shows measured peak level if the microphone is connected to the adapter RMS Level: shows measured RMS level if the microphone is connected to the adapter Volume Wired Controller: Status: shows if the wired volume controller is connected or not Level: shows the wired volume controller s level if it is connected to the adapter Wireless Controller: Last Command: shows the last command received by the wireless volume controller Export Setup to Desktop The current Setup file and all related data can be exported to the desktop from the Help menu: Help -> Export Setup to Desktop. The exported Setup file will be named GLM2Setup_ SetupName.zip, where SetupName is the name of the GLM setup. This feature can be used for example when consulting Genelec for help and advice and when the complete Setup file is requested.

16 GLM 2.0 Release Note January 13, 2016 Optional Gain When the analog or digital source output levels are low, or when some SAM monitors are located far away from the listening position relative to other SAM monitors, it may be useful to apply Optional Gain. The Optional Gain can be set to 0 db, +6 db, +12 db and +18dB from the Acoustic editor page. NOTE: Not all SAM models are Optional Gain capable. If a SAM model does not support this function, the Optional Gain control will not be available in the Acoustic Editor. Positive Gain for the HF Shelve It is now possible to set positive gain for one of the HF Shelving filter (filter number 3 in the figure below). The maximum gain for this filter is +3 db.
