Topics include cash management tools, the payments system, international cash management, general uses of credit, use of financial statements and financial ratios to make credit-related decisions, and policies and procedures for handling collections. Other topics, such as technology, customer relationship, banking relationship, and finance companies, may be included 3 Credits (3 lecture hrs. 0 lab hrs.) Student Learning Objectives And Means of Assessment Prerequisites: ACC-110, BUS-101 After successfully completing all course activities, the student will be able: Student Learning Objectives 1 to identify the objectives of corporate cash management Means of Assessment 2 to identify the objectives of the corporate collection system 3 to explain how credit and accounts receivable work 4 to identify the forms of credit extension 5 to determine how corporations develop credit policies 6 to calculate and use relevant financial ratios to make business decisions 7 to evaluate international cash management system 8 to analyze how corporations make customer credit decisions 9 to determine the functions and applications of technology in credit and collection system. 10 to evaluate the selection of a collection processing system

Of Treasury Management, ISBN# , 4TH ED, 2014, Publisher is ASFNP Faculty members are encouraged to use multiple methods of assessment and to assess student learning frequently. A midterm and final exam are not sufficient measures of student learning. Some examples of assessment methods are: Daily or weekly short quizzes Unit exams (multiple choice, problems and/or essays a mix is best) Student presentations, group or individual (a topic from the text, results of research, etc) Research reports or term papers either group or individual Class participation (Note: class participation grades cannot be based solely on attendance but must reflect participation in discussion, responses to questions, etc., and should be recorded in the instructor s grade book.) Examinations and quizzes 10-60% Cases, 10-60% Class Participation 0-10% Total 100% Competencies: In addition to meeting the overall objective cited above, there are additional student competencies that are desirable and should be encouraged throughout the entire educational experience. Some of these are: Oral and written communication skills Computer Literacy Interpersonal Skills Critical Thinking Skills Problem Solving
3 Course Requirements The student is expected to: 1. Read the assigned materials prior to the scheduled date; 2. Respond to assigned questions; 3. Complete quizzes by specified dates; 4. Complete assigned projects by the specified dates; 5. Participate in the class discussion; 6. Stay current with news relevant to the course material; 7. Use related resources as directed by the instructor Course Activities Faculty are encouraged to use a variety of instructional techniques to encourage student learning. Research on learning shows that the straight lecture technique is not particularly effective. Lecture segments should be kept to a maximum of 20 minutes and be interspersed with other learning activities such as demonstration, question and answer, class discussion, group learning projects, student presentations, etc. In order to meet the needs of diverse learners, faculty are encouraged to supplement lectures with transparencies or PowerPoint. (Note: if not assigned to a room already equipped with the technology, portable teaching stations equipped with a laptop computer and projection system are available from the library. Also, all classrooms have an Internet connection) Faculty are encouraged to incorporate use of the Internet in their assignments and projects. Students have ample access to the Internet in college labs. Students also have access to all Microsoft Office software so can be required to word process any work submitted, as well as develop PowerPoint presentations or Excel worksheets. There are many types of projects that are excellent learning activities for BNF 203 students. Some examples of projects that can be assigned to individuals or groups are: Build an appropriate investment portfolio with excess cash Analyze a cash management system and develop a recommendation for a better system Analyze a corporation s 10-k, 10-Q Compare various credit card terms and conditions Evaluate an international cash management system Examine and report on information and technology management Develop a financial plan for a small business Research the cash management system BCC Attendance Policy: Attendance Policy in this Course: Suspension Of Classes Other College, Divisional and/or Department Policy Statements All students are expected to attend punctually every scheduled meeting of each course in which they are registered. Attendance and lateness policies and sanctions are to be determined by th instructor for each section of each course. These will be established in writing on the individual course outline. Attendance will be kept by the instructor for administrative and counseling purposes. It is at the instructor s discretion to institute an attendance policy. If a student will be penalized for absences and lateness, it is incumbent upon the instructor to include those provisions in the outline. Students should listen to local broadcast stations in the event of emergencies when classes may have to be suspended; they should not telephone college offices or broadcast stations for information.
