1 SUPERSTITION FOOTHILLS COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION PLANT REGULATIONS Also included in the Rules and Regulations beginning on page 20 March 22, 2016
2 SFCOA PLANT AND LANDSCAPE REGULATIONS Prior to any landscape changes homeowners must submit an All-Inclusive Change Request form to the DRC for approval. All plants and trees on the plan must be fully identified. Plants and trees identified in this section are divided into three categories: Approved, Restricted and Prohibited. Any species of tree or shrub must conform to the Approved Plants and Trees or the Restricted Plants and Trees when the mature height may be visible above patio walls or from adjacent property. APPROVED PLANTS and TREES 1. Plants and Trees contained in the Approved Plant List are believed to be compatible with the Sonoran Desert and within Superstition Foothills. 2. All species of cacti are acceptable for use. 3. All plants within streetscapes, front yards and side yards visible from the street must adhere to the Approved or Restricted Plant List. 4. Plants above six feet (mature height) in rear or side yards or in public view within Superstition Foothills must adhere to the Restricted Plant List. 5. Plants below six feet at mature height in rear yards are open to owner's discretion so long as they are not listed in the Prohibited Plant List. The APPROVED PLANT LIST begins on page 21. This is a list of Cacti, Succulents, Trees, Shrubs, Accents, Groundcover and Vines approved for use by SFCOA. RESTRICTED PLANTS and TREES Species of the following plants and trees which are dwarf varieties or otherwise not expected to exceed mature height of six feet (6 ) are allowed in rear or side yards (private gardens) only if the plant or tree will not be visible from adjacent property or above walls. Palms (Palmae varities) Pines (Pinus), Cypress (Cupressus), False Cypress (Chamaecyparis) Juniper or Cedar (Juniperus) Oleanders (Nerium Oleander), Thevetia (Thevetia species) Citrus PROHIBITED PLANTS and TREES Olive Trees (Olea europaea) Fountain Grass (Pennisetum setaceum). Mulberry Trees (Morus species). Common Bermuda Grass (Cynodon dactylon). Mexican Palo Verde (Parkinsonia aculeata). Pampas Grass (Cortaderia selloana). Buffelgrass (Pennisetum cilare) Ficus Trees (Ficus species)
