2 How to Connect to the EUR Library Using Internet Explorer 8. Step 1. Open Internet Explorer, Press the Alt button and choose Tools, Internet Options Step 2. In Internet Options Choose the Tab Connections. In the bottom right corner click LAN settings

3 Step 3. Tick the box next to Use a proxy server for your LAN and type proxy.rsm.nl and choose port 8080 click OK, and OK. Step 4. Fill in your user name preceded by rsmnet\ (!) And then follow with your password. Example: rsmnet\jdoe Password123 NOTE: Libraries which use Citrix software (recognized by this symbol ) can NOT be accessed in this manner.you can access them only via ERNA dialup or while on-campus.

4 How to Connect to the EUR Library Using Internet Explorer 6. Step 1. In Internet Explorer go to the drop down menu Tools and choose Internet Options. Choose the Connections Tab and click on LAN Settings Step 2. Type in the settings as depicted on the right. (Proxy.rsm.nl, Port 8080). Press ok twice.

5 Step 3. Internet Explorer will ask for a username/password. Use your Blackboard credentials preceded by rsmnet\. NOTE: Libraries which use Citrix software (recognized by this symbol ) can NOT be accessed in this manner.you can access them only via ERNA dialup or while on-campus.

6 How to Connect to the EUR Library Using Firefox 3.5. Step 1. Open Firefox, click on Tools in the Top Menu. And choose Options. Step 2. In Options Choose the Advanced tab, then the Network tab. Click Settings.

7 Step 3. Choose the box next to Manual Proxy Configuration and type proxy.rsm.nl and choose port Check the box Use this proxy server for all protocols click OK, and OK. Step 4. Fill in your user name preceded by rsmnet\ (!) And then follow with your password. Example: rsmnet\jdoe Password123 NOTE: Libraries which use Citrix software (recognized by this symbol ) can NOT be accessed in this manner.you can access them only via ERNA dialup or while on-campus.

8 How to setup the RSM Proxy Server to access the EUR Libraries on MAC OSX Note: If you have a different browser than the ones described in this manual please refer to the help provides by the manufacturer or come by the ICT helpdesk on the first floor. Step 1. Open System Preferences and choose network Step 2. Choose Advanced

9 Step 3. Choose Proxies and select Web Proxy (HTTP). Type proxy.rsm.nl and 8080 under Web Proxy Server and click OK. Step 4. Click Apply to save the changes The proxy has been configured for Safari and Internet Explorer now. Firefox uses different settings which can be configured from within the programme

10 Step 5. Open Firefox and go to Preferences Step 6. In the Advanced section choose the Network tab and click Settings to set up Proxies for accessing the internet

11 Step 7. Choose Manual proxy configuration and type proxy.rsm.nl and 8080 after HTTP Proxy and Port. Click OK to apply the changes From this point on the manual is the same for all above mentioned browsers. Step 8. Open the browser of your choice and, if you need the EUR libraries, go to sh/ Other addresses (URL s) are also reachable via the Proxy Server

12 Step 9. When you want to want to change the settings back to normal you can go back to System Preferences and choose network. Choose Proxies and deselect Web Proxy (HTTP). Click OK and Apply (next screen) to save the changes. Step 10. In Firefox go back to the proxy settings menu (Step 5 7) and select No proxy. Choose OK to apply the changes.

13 How to Connect to the EUR Library Using Safari 4.0. Step 1. Open Safari, click on Safari in the Top Menu and choose Preferences. Step 2. In Preferences Choose the Advanced tab and in the bottom next to Proxies Click Change Settings.

14 Step 3. Tick the box next to Web Proxy (HTTP) and type proxy.rsm.nl and choose port 8080 click OK, and OK. Step 4. Fill in your user name preceded by rsmnet\ (!) And then follow with your password. Check the box next to Remember this password in my Keychain Example: rsmnet\jdoe Password123 NOTE: Libraries which use Citrix software (recognized by this symbol ) can NOT be accessed in this manner.you can access them only via ERNA dialup or while on-campus.
