SECTION A: ESSAY QUESTION 1 Instructins t Markers: Candidates are required t write n ONE tpic nly. The ideas listed belw the tpics are nly sme ways in which the tpics culd be interpreted. Full credit must be given fr the candidate's wn interpretatin. Marking must be bjective. Give credit fr relevant ideas. Use the 50-mark assessment rubric t mark the essays. The interpretatin shuld be linked t the pictures. Candidates must give the essay a suitable title. Candidates may write in any apprpriate tense. The fllwing infrmatin may als be included: Birthplace Where the persn was living at the time f death Key survivrs (spuse, children) and their names Date and time f funeral Bigraphical infrmatin. A tribute must be paid t the deceased. [30] 2.3 MAGAZINE ARTICLE The article must have a heading. The cntent must be abut addictin t scial netwrks. The dangers f scial netwrking must be emphasised in this article. The language may be frmal/ infrmal. The style shuld be persnal, speaking directly t the reader. The article shuld stimulate interest and keep the reader absrbed. [30] 2.4 INFORMAL SPEECH The speech must be in paragraph frm. The tne f the speech must be infrmal. The language and register must be apprpriate t the audience (the family members and friends). The audience shuld be addressed apprpriately. Cnsider the fllwing: The cntent f the speech shuld be relevant t the tpic (welcming a brther/sister back hme and cngratulating him/her n cmpleting his/her studies). A lgical and an apprpriate clsure t the speech must be evident. Different appraches t the presentatin f the speech shuld be accepted. [30]
