2 Closer to the fire with large glass side panels NEW! The new Conturas 556/586 feature large glass side panels to enhance the open fire experience. They bring you closer to the fire and give you the pleasure of enjoying a full view of the flames from whichever angle you look. The new stoves are compact and easy to position and can heat up to 120 square metres. The firebox on the Contura 556 is slightly higher (NEW) than on the Contura 550 to give elegant proportions and a perfect fit against a wall. The Contura 586 with its pedestal base looks stunning in the centre of the room. Both stoves are manufactured using state-of-the-art technology and fifty years of Småland craft and ingenuity. These easy-to-light fireplaces achieve maximum heat output within a few minutes and have been carefully tested so you can enjoy your fire with a clear conscience. There are numerous ways of adapting the stove to suit your family, your home and its interior décor. You can add a hotplate (NEW), a separate floor protection made of glass or fit a soft-close door (NEW) to the log box. Heating with a clear conscience Almost all consumption affects the environment. However, there are some products that have less impact on the environment than others. They are Swan labelled, such as the Contura stoves. This makes burning wood an environmentally-marked, renewable, clean and economical heating method. Wood firing is CO 2 -neutral Wood is a biofuel and part of the natural cycle. The carbon dioxide released by your stove is absorbed by growing trees. 6 The details make the design With a stove that is easy to place, a choice of optional extras and our dimension sheets, you ll be able to plan your purchase well and design your stove to suit your own taste and needs. Position your stove correctly! A stove is a centre piece. The best location is, therefore, usually in the middle of a seating area. Preferably close to windows for the added advantage of enjoying the view. The stove s position also depends on the location of the chimney or where it can be installed. Using the dimensions of the stove s various parts and distances to walls, floor and ceiling, you can plan where you want your stove more precisely and see where the chimney connection will be.
