Deep-drawable and weldable packaging steel is available in the grades TH520 and TS520 for reliable production. Very good deep-drawability and verified expansion rates of over 40 percent leave practically no material-related bounds to individual design ideas. Weldability under high-performance conditions was confirmed in a technical test conducted by Soudronic. The hardness characteristic indicates a smooth, hardly noticeable transition in hardness from the plate to the weld seam. The high forming potential of High Formability Steel can be used e.g. for expanded bodies.
