4 OVERALL AIM o o These lectures are aimed for beginners who are interested in 3D modeling animation and rendering. This course is intended for those stakeholders related to the Logistics Sector and hence those aimed at having an interest in learning how to exploid 3D CAD animation in their work.

7 ABOUT 3D ANIMATION o Animation is the process of taking a 3D static object and getting it to move. o There's key-frame animation, where the animator manipulates the objects on a frame-by-frame basis, similar to hand-drawn cartoons. o Other methods of animation include placing objects on splines and setting them to follow the path of the curve.

8 OVERVIEW OF COURSE o The lectures in this module will guide a first time 3D Studio Max user, with a step by step approach on how to convert a 3D wireframe model into a rendered and animated model. o As a case-study, the user will gradually build, render and animate an automated guided vehicle (AGV), within a factory floor.
