1 Camcorder Quick Start Guide The Panasonic HD camcorder allows you to record high-definition images suitable for large flat screen televisions. Furthermore, it offers 42x ultra-telephoto zooming and it features HYBRID Optical Image Stabilizer for, blur-free zooming. 1) Turning the camcorder on and off 2) Using the LCD Monitor touch screen 3) Selecting the recording format (AVCHD or iframe) 4) Recording motion pictures and still pictures 5) Advanced recording options 6) Transferring media to computer using imovie 7) Deleting media from camcorder 1) Turning the camcorder on and off A) Turn on and off with the power button Open the LCD monitor and press power button to turn on the unit. The red status indicator light (A) will turn on. Power Button B) Turn on and off with the LCD monitor Opening the LCD monitor turns on the unit. Closing the LCD monitor shuts off the unit. 2 Move finger while pressing on touch screen to slide Touch to display the Touch Menu 3) Selecting the recording format (AVCHD or iframe) You can select either AVCHD or iframe recording formats to record motion pictures. To select recording format, follow the instructions below: What is the difference between these two formats? AVCHD with this format you can record high definition images suitable for viewing on a large format TV or saving to a disc. iframe with this format you can view and edit with a MAC (imovie 11). With imovie you are able to import motion pictures in iframe faster than with AVCHD. In addition, you can make the file size of the imported motion picture smaller than with AVCHD.

4 B) Image Stabilizer Function Camcorder is equipped with a Hybrid Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S. Button). The image stabilizer will reduce the effects of shake during recording. To use, follow the instructions below: C) Recording with the Touch function You can record with the Touch function by using by following the instructions below: Touch Icons

5 6) Transferring media to computer using imovie I. Open imovie on the computer. II. Connect camcorder to computer with the USB cable (the USB cable is located on the tripod stand). The camcorder s USB port is located above the power button. III. From the screen that appears on the LCD monitor, choose the PC option. IV. Select the camera icon located in the left of the imovie interface (or you can select file and then import from camera). V. A new window will appear in the imovie database. On the lower left corner of this window use the down-arrow to select Panasonic Camcorder. VI. VII. Click the Import All button on the lower right of the window. A new window will open. Create a name for your project and then click Import button. Video will import into imovie. For more imovie instructions, please refer to the imovie user guide.

To remove the camcorder from the computer drag the [CAM_SD] icon to Trash and then disconnect the USB cable and the camcorder. 7) Deleting media from camcorder A) Delete a single video clip from the camcorder Select video clip from the LCD Monitor, select the garbage can icon on the right of the screen, and then select yes. B) Delete all video clips from the camcorder Use the arrows on the LCD monitor to select menu screen with the garbage can icon. Click the icon, choose select all scenes, and then select yes.
