4 FAQ s Electric Radiators are 100% efficient therefore there is no requirement to oversize the appliance Heat Loss should be calculated in accordance with the latest regulations No maintenance required Can be plugged in or spur wired EHC Electric Combination Radiators are not storage heaters however due to the patented Magmatic Tile there is an element of heat stored within the radiator Radiators are supplied fully assembled with a UK plug and 1.5m of cable EHC can supply Radiators in any RAL colour All EHC Radiators are supplied with wall fixing brackets Radiators can be wall mounted or placed on feet or castors Most 1, 2 and 3 bedroom properties are generally suitable for an Electric Radiator Central Heating System No pipes, flue or boiler required therefore the installation will be quicker than a gas central heating system When installing Electric Radiators as a full Central Heating system: 1. Always ensure that the incoming electrical supply is sufficient for the total radiator output 2. To accommodate Off-Peak electricity tariffs it is recommended that a programmer with a facility for 3 On and 3 Off periods is installed 3. If the property has an electric shower it is advisable that a Shower Flow Sensor or Relay Interrupt is installed to prevent the Electric Radiator system & Electric Shower operating at the same time 4. EHC can supply Wireless Controlled Radiators which elliminate the need for Control Wiring 5. When installing as a complete hard wired central heating system please refer to page 15 for EHC s recommended wiring schematic 4

The EHC range of Electric Radiators are the most complete in the market today. They offer the perfect solution for outdated storage heaters, properties with no access to a mains gas supply or homes that require additional heating without interrupting their existing central heating system. These 100% energy efficient products are traditionally installed by qualified electricians however for homeowners requiring one or two radiators they can be simply plugged in. Because EHC Radiators are so reliable and affordable, the range is specified by Social Landlords throughout the UK as the preferred option when replacing storage heaters and other outdated forms of central heating. 6 EHC Radiator Technology Our unique combination radiators are designed to store the heat directly into the Magmatic Heat Retention Tablets without any loss of energy. When the EHC Radiators have achieved their required temperature the Manual Thermostat will cut the power to the Radiator. The Radiator will continue to provide heat, which has been stored in the Magmatic tablets, for up to 45 minutes with no further use of electricity. The Radiators will use approximately minutes of electricity per hour, depending on the building fabric and the outside temperature. The contacts inside the radiators are protected with heat shrinkable insulated sleeves to ensure optimum safety. Multiple thermocouples within each radiator provide overheat protection for additional safety. 7 EHC Comfort & Quality EHC Radiators are unique due to the metal ribs being individually spot welded which prevents any noise during the expansion and contraction cycle. The metal rib design boasts 6 times the normal radiator surface area to provide approximately 50% radiant heat and 50% convected heat. 9 Radiator Options Standard Height Radiators 630mm high EHC s most popular size. They look like a conventional wet system radiator, and like all EHC Electric Combination Radiators heat up and operate like wet system radiators. All standard radiators are 630mm high and 70mm in depth. Tall Vertical Radiators 1240mm high At EHC we realise that not every home is suited to standard size radiators and as a result we have created a number of different space saving heating solutions. From as little as 380mm wide you can buy a radiator to efficiently and effectively heat your home. This stylish and elegant range is available in 3 outputs and offers the same benefits as Standard Height Radiators, with the added attraction of space saving features. Low Profile & Conservatory Radiators 340mm high To compliment your existing heating system The Electric Heating Company have produced a selection of electric radiators to heat your conservatory. At only 340mm high you have the facility to place your radiator anywhere within your conservatory or sun room. EHC offer 4 outputs within this range from 500watt to 2000watt. Bathroom Radiators 630mm & 1240mm high Bathroom Radiators are offered in 2 styles depending on your requirements. The most popular choice is the 600watt and 1000watt Standard EHC Radiator type. However if you require a larger output bathroom heater the 1200watt Electric Bathroom Radiator is the ideal choice as it also acts as a towel warmer. In addition to the Control Box you will also require a Single Channel Heat Pack (see schematic). 16 EHC T Pod Eco Wireless Controller This Wireless Controller is a 24/7 Timer and Thermostat which simply connects to the Receiver located on the side of the Wireless Control Radiator. It enables you to operate and set the required times for your preferred Heating patterns. It will control upto 9 Radiators in a single Room or Zone however please note that if you have Radiators in multiple Rooms you will require a Controller in each Room. To avoid having more than one Wireless Controller you may consider purchasing our popular Eco Interface and downloading the FREE APP which enables you to adjust the Temperature of every Radiator within the property on the go whilst the Wireless Controller manages your Heating times. With full Control of your Heating system you will maximise your Heating comfort and reduce energy consumption and running costs. To download the FREE APP simply connect to the Internet within your property using a Smartphone, Tablet or PC and you will be able to open your EHC Eco Controller Smart APP for the connected home. The APP is compatible with both Apple and Android. The easy to use APP has a selection of menus designed to maximise your comfort and reduce your Heating costs. 19 EHC immersun Solar PV Intelligent Controller The EHC immersun is an innovative eco-friendly energy management system that diverts electricity generated by your Solar PV Panels to our Solar PV Ready Electric Radiators and Neptune Hot Water Cylinders. This provides your family with Hot Water and a reliable secondary heat source for those hard to heat & commonly used living areas. We help you make the most out of your free generated solar PV even in properties that have existing Gas Central Heating systems as the Solar PV Radiator will raise the property temperature prior to operating the Gas Boiler. You can add an EHC immersun to your new Solar PV system or retro-fit to an existing system. You can keep up to 100% of the power generated as hot water or to heat your Solar PV Ready Radiators. As an added benefit you will receive your full feed-in-tariff whilst reducing your energy costs. The EHC immersun system intelligently monitors power travelling to and from the grid, so ALL the unused energy goes directly into the home, whilst also displaying energy saved and power output of the system.
