3 In Europe, polymer binders were first used in the 1930s to improve the characteristics of mortars. Easy to Apply Application of VINNAPAS -modified water proofing membranes is easy: Apply one coat of the water proofing compound as a primer. Once the surface is touch-dry, apply the first coat of water proofing membrane. Apply the second coat of water proofing membrane in the opposite direction to that of the first coat. Reliable and Easy Processing The first step is to re-shape the concrete with a repair mortar. An adhesive, cementitious slurry which has been modified with VINNAPAS is added to the mortar to ensure it adheres reliably and permanently to the cementitious substrate (concrete). The repaired concrete structures are generally covered with a layer of fine filler one to three millimeters thick. VINNAPAS dispersible polymer powder ensures good processing, prevents the thin layers from drying too quickly, raises the level of impermeability to CO 2 and pollutants such as road salt, and improves freeze/thaw resistance. 24
