Proper lighting enhances the beauty shapes, spaces and surroundings and adds depth to the way we experience them. Light infuses us with life and happiness. For three generations, we have been working to design and develop light for the interior decor of homes and workplaces, but most of all: for people. Therefore, we are proud to present a collection of our lamp series: Some are brand new and most feature powerful classic lines. Our vision has always been to design lamps which create value and arouse enthusiasm. The design is determined by the light and the light is determined by its function. The combination of innovative solutions, elegant finish, colours and functions yields a product of enduring value. We want more than just a lamp. We want to show you the light. Therefore, we are more than a design brand. Darø is continuously developing. We design new ways of spreading the light. 5 Darø design spirit of the lamp - since 1969 ZARGO 18 P1 240V When night falls and lamps are switched on, they revitalise a home with light. Moods, colours, light and shadow change spaces and yield new experiences. The spirit of the lamp awakens. To some people, a lamp is just a utility for lighting the home. But to others, the lamp is a sublime manifestation of refined technology, of the control of light itself and embodies one s personality to unify and harmonise the many elements of a home s interior design. Darø creates lamps. Not the kind whose only purpose is to illuminate, but the kind which invigorate, enliven and brighten up a space, even when switched off. Each Darø lamp is unique yet and slightly different from its predecessor and its successor. This is because they are created by hand with love. These differences are more obvious in the glass series. Each glass lampshade is handmade by expert glassblowers. Even if the shape is precisely the same from one lamp to another, there are always subtle differences in the colour, pattern and thickness of the shade which are revealed when the lamp is switched on and the light glows through the glass. The most obvious attractions of a lamp are its exterior and visible shape, but who ever considers what is concealed inside the parts hidden beneath glass and metal? Where the electricity is conducted safely up to the socket and reliably supplied to the light bulb? To Darø, this is the very soul of the lamp so we only use the very best materials in our classic lamps. Every single detail is considered, assessed and tested before being implemented. This is exemplified by the small finishing ring featured on all Darø lamps. It is milled out of a piece of special steel at a Danish machine shop. We could easily have used a cheaper replica, but would never do this. Because we never experiment with the quality concepts established over the decades. And who would ever risk violating the spirit of the lamp? Especially of a lamp intended to please its owner for many years to come. 3

Class II, 3m transparent cable, w/canopy GALILEI / design by Thomas Darø The Galilei pendant is Danish quality at its best The glass surface has been opacified to cast soft, pleasant, diffuse light over the entire room. Light shines directly downwards through a circular opening on bottom of the lamp to combine the soft room lighting with a subtle spotlight effect on the table. The height of the illuminant in the lamp ensures that people sitting at the table are not dazzled by glare. Galilei is available in different sizes with or without touch dimming. 5

13 BONZAI / design by Kjeld Darø The Bonzai lamp is a unique Darø product. Every single lamp is hand-decorated with a ceramic texture and stands out as a beautiful work of glass art. When switched off, the glass appears uniform in texture, but when switched on, the glass takes on an inner glow and the ceramic texture becomes crystal clear. 24 PYRAMIDE / design by Kjeld Darø The simple style and quality materials of the classic Pyramide floor lamp make it one of the best, most widely used floor lamps on the market. This type of floor lamp comes in many versions, but there is only one original Pyramide. Mouthblown glass combined with a satinchromium metal surface provide an exclusive style. The Pyramide design is further enhanced with a variety of details like individual light dimming with an on/off function and flexible joints. The front lampshade can be tilted up or down for controlling the direction of the light to achieve an interesting, decorative effect. The illuminant is 240V G9 and is dimmable. 39 FIORA / design by Thomas Darø Fiora is a newly designed lamp featuring the same basic elements as Archos, but in a different, softer style. Fiora s smaller size, simple design and soft lines comprise its unique style but give the lamp unique power and strength due to its several-millimetres-thick aluminium lampshade. Looking into the lamp, the eye encounters the fantastic silver reflection, making Fiora more than just a lamp. The lamp includes a G9 illuminant in a 33W energy saver which can easily be replaced with LED, if the user prefers even lower power consumption and longer service life. Archos was originally designed to be used next to a plasma screen TV set or along stairways, but has proven its worth in an enormous number of settings. 38

45 K9 CUBE / design by Thomas Darø The K9 Cube is a wall lamp in a Cubist design. The reflections in glass and chrome mirror the space and its colours. K9 Cube is made of genuine K9 glass, signalling purity and quality. The inner frosting evokes a feeling ice and frost, which is part of the basic concept of the K9 Cube design. 46 CUBI / design by Thomas Darø Cubi conforms with the modern Cubist trend influencing modern architecture. Its materials are aluminium and frosted glass. 53 PASO Basic / design by Darø Design Group The basic colour is black PASO exudes a simple aesthetic style. It is constructed of two metal roundels to which a loose piece of the shade is attached with strong Velcro. The floor and table models are solidly supported on three extended metal legs, and each leg is bolted with three sturdy screws. The standard E27 socket provides countless options when choosing the source of light. Paso is available in a diameter of 35 cm as a pendant and table lamp and in 50 cm as a pendant and floor lamp. The basic colour is black with black fabric. In addition, the table and floor lamp model is available with oak veneer coating on the frame. The many combination options make Paso well-suited for interior design for projects and homes. 51

67 TWISTER / design by Darø Design Group The beautifully bending metal leaves of the Twister 44 lamp give it an interesting unique quality and make it an artistic enhancement of your interior decor. The light is cast through the twisted leaves and falls in an interesting, decorative manner. The five G9 illuminants jointly provide excellent spatial lighting. The Twister s diameter of 44 cm enables it to placed almost anywhere. The 200 cm cable length means that Twister can be mounted in high-ceilinged rooms. 70 MERLINA / design by Kjeld Darø The Merlina design is inspired by Merlin the Wizard s hat, whose characteristic contours are both familiar and unique. The lampshade is white opal in mouthblown glass, the luminaire is metal with a lightly brushed satin chromium surface. The lamp is furnished with a dimmer which makes it possible to adjust the light for reading or decorative purposes. Merlina is typically used as a reading or bedside lamp. 72 ARCHITECT / design by Thomas Darø The angular shapes and futuristic design softened by a lightly-brushed satin aluminium finish are some of the first obvious features of the Architect lamp. Closer inspection reveals the internal wire system which elegantly unifies strength and refinement.
