3 design follows function Most often, we base our choice of home lighting on a fixture s appearance, and not on how the light appears. Only few of us pay attention to light s appearance. After all, light is light. Throughout its existence, Louis Poulsen Lighting A/S has maintained a constant focus on how light appears, having the fixture s appearance as its second priority. To put it simply: Design follows function. This is why fixtures designed in the 1920s still compete on an equal footing with fixtures developed in our time. And that is why Louis Poulsen Lighting A/S still succeeds in launching fixtures that outshine other fixtures. Quite simply because a fixture from Louis Poulsen Lighting A/S derives its identity from both light and design. These aspects unite in our fixtures! 3
