Thon Hotels a subsidiary of The Olav Thon Group originally started out as Rainbow Hotels in Olav Thon our charismatic owner and driving force of the company, had at this point seven hotels and made a good decision to establish a Norwegian hotel chain. The hotels were located in the first and second cities of Norway; Oslo and Bergen respectively, a brilliant concept of supplying the hotel market with high quality accommodation and a sumptuous breakfast, without all the extras that are seldom used in the main city centers of Norway, at reasonable prices.
