1 FFA Basics and Timeline Worksheet Submitted by Jennifer Waters and used in cooperation with the University of Illinois at Urbana- Champaign. Using the classroom projector and internet, visit each of the websites listed and answer the questions related to each of the websites and use the notes from the power point too! To get started, go to and then click on About Us 1. The club called the Future of America began in the year. 2. The Future Farmers of America started in but changed their name to The National FFA Organization in because FFA is about more than just farming but a lot of people don t know this fact! It is your job to help teach people that we are the FFA, not Future Farmers. Now click on History. In the right hand column click on FFA Timeline. 3. In 1925 a guy named Henry started the FFA and became known as the father of the FFA. Kind of a cool name and fun to say you try it. 4. They became an organization in 1928 and A-C Central joined on board the next year in which is also when they adopted the official colors. They are gold and national. 5. A few year s later a members mom made the first FFA jacket in the year. It was made of this material (and boy is it hot!): 6. In 1935 the Farmers of America formed. They later joined the Future Farmers of America in the year. 7. Many female ag students felt left out because they could not join the Future Farmers of America. Many of the boys and teachers felt that the women should not be part of the organization but in the year girls were finally allowed to join the FFA! Go back to About Us and click on Statistics. 8.
