THE EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM: THE TRANSITION TO GENERAL MANAGEMENT (EDP) This intensive two-week international program prepares successful functional-level executives for the critical transition to general management. Berger Wallman Family Professor of Accounting, Chicago Booth Dr. Berger is a specialist in financial accounting, corporate finance, and taxation with particular expertise in applying these fields to firm valuation, corporate disclosure strategies, corporate restructuring, and mergers and acquisitions. His teaching interests revolve around financial accounting, financial statement analysis, and finance. Prior to joining Booth, Professor Berger was a faculty member at The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and served as a visiting associate professor at MIT s Sloan School of Management. PhD and MBA, University of Chicago Work has been widely published in accounting and financial journals, including The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting & Economics, and Review of Financial Studies. Ginzel Clinical Professor of Managerial Psychology, Chicago Booth Professor Ginzel has been a member of the Booth faculty since 1992 and is the founder of Corporate Education at the University of Chicago. For nearly a decade, she was responsible for leading this educational enterprise. Her research has centered on social cognition and interpersonal dynamics, especially regarding the social psychology of organizational behavior. She held previous faculty appointments at both Stanford Graduate School of Business and Northwestern University s Kellogg School of Management. ADMISSIONS CRITERIA The candidate s level and type of experience are important characteristics for the EDP admissions committee: Participants usually have expertise in one or more functional areas or may already be leading organizations that are in the process of expanding. Includes entrepreneurs, presidents, and owners of small companies with growth potential. Have a minimum of 10 years business experience with some managerial and leadership background. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required for successful participation in the course. Each candidate must submit a completed application form. For your convenience, an online application is available on our website. To ensure your place in the program and to receive your pre-program materials in a timely manner, please send your application at least six weeks prior to the program s start date. CERTIFICATE The Executive Development Program awards a certificate upon the successful completion of the program. PROGRAM CANCELLATION POLICY To receive a full refund of tuition, written notice of cancellation must be received more than 30 days in advance of the program start date. Registrants canceling within 30 days of the program start date will be charged 25 percent of the program fee. No refunds will be given if withdrawal is made after the start of the program. TRANSFER REQUESTS Requests received within 30 days of the program start will be subject to a $200 transfer fee to cover administrative costs. Any late transfers followed by a cancellation will be charged 25 percent of the program fee. Transferees will have a period of one year from the date of their transfer request to attend a subsequent seminar offering. After a one-year period, tuition fees will be forfeited. Transferees will be required to pay fee increases, should any take place. The University of Chicago reserves the right to change seminar arrangements without notice.
