3 1 Overview This section provides an overview of Manitoba ehealth s objectives for defining and implementing an EMR-to-eChart context-sensitive launch interface, the intended audience and the scope of this document. 1.1 echart Context-Sensitive Launch Interface Objectives Certified EMR products in Manitoba must have a capability to launch echart Manitoba within a patient context, using the interface provided by Manitoba ehealth. The objective of the echart launch interface is to provide clinicians secure and authorized access to a broader set of key health information for their patients; thus improving the quality and timeliness of patient care and providing flexibility in definition of new health care delivery processes and models. 1.2 Document Purpose This document describes the test scripts and certification environment logistics for the assessment of echart context-sensitive launch interface. 1.3 Intended Audience This documentation is intended for the following groups who are responsible for developing, implementing, testing and maintaining the echart Manitoba launch interface within an EMR product: Architects Business analysts Project managers / analysts Technical specialists Software developers Software testers 1.4 Acronyms AD EMR HCN Applicable Document Electronic Medical Record Health Care Number or Personal Health Number issued by other provinces December 1, 2015 Manitoba ehealth Page 3 of 13

4 1.5 References This document references two (2) companion documents: REFERENCE DOCUMENT VERSION PUBLISH DATE AD 1 AD 2 EChart Manitoba Context-Sensitive Launch Interface Requirements Specification EChart Manitoba Context-Sensitive Launch Interface Assessment Information Addendum v1.0 December 1, 2015 v1.0 December 1, 2015 Applicants should EMR@manitoba-ehealth.ca after completing the application for EMR certification, in order to request your Assessment Information Addendum. 2 Assessment Requirements The echart Manitoba Context Sensitive Launch Interface Requirements Specification (AD1) defines the requirements. 2.1 Supported Browsers The current version of echart Manitoba supports following browsers: Microsoft Internet Explorer version 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0. Microsoft Internet Explorer version 10.0 and 11.0 with compatibility mode turned on. 3 Assessment This section itemizes a number of test scripts to assess and validate the requirements for which the assessment method is either System Integration Testing or Demonstration in the Requirements Specification (AD1). 3.1 Assumptions 1. All test scripts assume the test user has signed on to the local EMR unless otherwise stated. 2. The IP address from which the launch request is issued, is assumed to be located on a local area network that has been provisioned by Manitoba ehealth with VPN access to its network. 3. The success or failure of the actual patient search is irrelevant in most test scripts, unless otherwise stated, since the testing of the echart patient search is outside the scope of this assessment. 5 3.2 Certification Environment Test EMR ID, Username and Password Manitoba ehealth provides EMR IDs, echart username and password specific to each applicant in the Assessment Information Addendum (AD 2) for integration testing and assessment Test Patients Few test patients are available for the applicants in the test environment of echart Manitoba to facilitate integration testing and assessment. The identifiers and demographics of these test patients are available in the Assessment Information Addendum (AD 2) Test Network Parameters The HTTP POST target URLs (echart Request URLs and echart Logout URLs) for echart Context-Sensitive Launch interface are available in the Assessment Information Addendum (AD 2). 3.3 Test Script Column Definitions ID A unique identifier for the test script. Description A brief textual description of the test being performed. Req/Opt R=Required: the applicant must successfully complete these test scripts. O=Optional: these test scripts are dependent on functionality in the EMR, thus classified as optional. If the EMR product has capabiity to perform these test scripts, the applicant must successfully complete them. Script The detailed steps needed to execute the test. Expected Results The detailed results to be demonstrated and that prove successful execution of the test. Reqmt Xref A reference to one or more requirements in AD1 being primarily assessed. 7 3.5 Test Scripts ID DESCRIPTION REQ/ C1 Save the echart credentials in EMR. R 1. Sign on to EMR as a healthcare provider user. 2. Open the screen to save echart credentials in the EMR. 3. Save the test echart username and password. 4. Verify the test echart username and password are saved. EMR user is able to save the echart credentials. EC.I03 C2 EChart user account has not been provisioned within echart. R 1. Sign on to EMR as a user who has not been provisioned for echart. 2. Immediately after signing on to the EMR, Place any patient in context. EMR user is denied access to echart. EC.S01 C3 Invalid echart password entered. R 1. Sign on to the EMR with account that has a valid echart username but an invalid password. 2. Place any patient in context. EMR user is challenged to reauthenticate to echart. Open the echart testing and assessment environment URL (not the single-sign-on URL) directly in the browser, in a new tab. EChart presents the login screen to user. User is not taken into echart patient search page directly. EC.S06 C9 User timed out in EMR, causing echart launch session token or identifiers to be deleted R 1. Place any patient in context. 3. Return back to EMR, keeping the echart window also open. 4. Do not do any activity in EMR and wait for more than xx minutes; where xx is the configured session limit in the EMR 5. Open the echart testing and assessment environment URL (not the single-sign-on URL) directly in the browser, in a new tab EChart presents the login screen to user. User is not taken into echart patient search page directly. EC.S06 C10 Password change is required. R 1. EChart administrator forces password expiry on EMR user s account. 2. Immediately after signing on to the EMR, place any patient in context. 4. EChart shows user an invalid password screen. 5. User closes the echart browser window. 13 4 Appendix A: Release Notes Added reference to the requirements specification document under section 2 (Assessment Requirements) and removed all requirements from this document as they were duplicated. Removed the test scripts for MRN parameters from section 3.5 (Test Scripts) as EMR are not expected to store MRN in Manitoba. Moved the use cases to the requirements specification document.
