1 Masters of Science in Engineering (MEM) This unique program combines several modules from traditional business & management program with courses bringing the latest techniques and concepts in Engineering including but not limited to Project, Decision Making, Engineering Optimization and for Technical Organizations. The mix of management, engineering and technical concepts focused in MEM Program are meant to prepare working professionals to thrive in the increasingly complex managerial environment of today's technology-based organizations. This thirty credit hour graduate program is conducted in the evening and has specifically been designed to accommodate working engineers and technical professionals, who are seeking to advance to positions of a greater managerial and technical responsibility. It is purposely designed to benefit top executives such as CEOs, MDs, and DGs, Production/Operation Managers, GMs, Technocrats, Manufacturers, Consultants, Entrepreneurs, Engineers, Technological Experts, Scientists and Technical Managers. Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must have a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 2.50/4.00 or 60% aggregate marks in BSc/BE in any Engineering Discipline (16 years of formal education), recognized by PEC. A minimum score of 50% in NTS test result is compulsory for acceptance to the program. Core Courses: 1. Quality Improvement in Technical Concerns 2. 3 Ph.D. Engineering (Ph.D-EM) The 60 credit hour PhD program at CASE is an extensive program that requires the student to exhibit outstanding research capabilities. The degree program specially focuses on finding intellectual solution (both industrial and academic) with distinct knowledge contributions in the field of Engineering. Students aspiring to be researchers in this program must have exceptional research capabilities with strong academic and industrial knowledge. The program ensures highest level of research outputs by enforcing exceptional quality measures at various program milestones such as admission, course work completion, doctoral qualifying exam, proposal defense, final defense, publications fulfillment and various formal and informal reviews. Note: Being a PhD scholars at CASE, students have to fulfill additional requirements imposed by department against various program tasks and milestones. Details of these additional requirements are available with the department office. Eligibility Criteria: The candidate must possess at least a four year Bachelors degree (PEC recognized) or equivalent and an MS degree in Engineering or relevant discipline (minimum 18 years of formal education) from an HEC recognized university. A minimum 3.00/4.00 (or 75% marks) in the MS degree is required. Student has to pass the CASE admission test (GAT Subject) and interview. All candidates must complete any other HEC requirement for admission to the PhD Program. Note: PhD Admissions will always be offered subject to the availability of the supervisors in the Department. 4 Master of Science in (MM) is an essential area that has immediate impact on the business operations. The field of management is constantly changing, and new tools, techniques and methodologies are continually being introduced to improve the efficiency, productivity, and profitability of an organization, thus, it enables organizations to gain competitive advantage. This unique program is aimed at addressing the needs of the managers of the 21st century in order to cope with the ever increasing organizational pressures. The program is structured around the core discipline of. It presents concepts from grass root to advanced level. Ultimate aim of this program is to ensure that student specializes in discipline for further academic and industrial pursuit. Eligibility Criteria: This program is open for students with 16 years of formal education in any discipline from a HEC recognized university. Minimum of 50% marks, or a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5/4.0 in the last degree is required. The applicants must have a minimum of 2 years work experience and a minimum score of 50% in relevant NTS exam. Core Courses: 1. Marketing of Products and Services 2. 6 Ph.D. (Ph.D-MM) The 60 credit hour PhD program at CASE is an extensive program that requires the student to exhibit outstanding research capabilities. The program is aimed to provide greater liaison between industry and academia through problem solving through research. The program also aims to address managerial issues hindering national industrial capability development. Students aspiring to be researchers in this program must have exceptional research capabilities with strong academic and industrial knowledge. The program ensures highest level of research outputs by enforcing exceptional quality measures at various program milestones such as admission, course work completion, doctoral qualifying exam, proposal defense, final defense, publications fulfillment and various formal and informal reviews. Note: Being a PhD scholars at CASE, students have to fulfill additional requirements imposed by department against various program tasks and milestones. Details of these additional requirements are available with the department office. Student has to pass the GAT Subject Test in Sciences conducted by NTS will minimum of 60% marks and interview by CASE faculty. All candidates must complete any other HEC requirement for admission to the PhD Program. Note: PhD Admissions will always be offered subject to the availability of the supervisors in the Department.

8 Masters of Science in Project (MPM) The MPM program focuses distinctly on individual s Project capabilities, skill building and conceptual understanding from basic to advanced level concepts (related to Project ). Various organizations rely heavily on project managers so that projects flow seamlessly and the timeline, scope, and budget goals are met. With the increase in project-based work methods to accomplish tasks, experienced project managers are in higher demand. When you earn a master s degree in project management, you possess a skill set necessary for project management valued by companies in virtually every industry. The purpose of the program thus is to produce high quality project managers for various local and international industries and to enable the students to develop solid base for doctoral level education in Project discipline. Eligibility Criteria: This program is open for students with 16 years of formal education in any discipline from a HEC recognized university. Minimum of 50% marks, or a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5/4.0 in the last degree is required. The applicants must have a minimum score of 50% in NTS exam. Core Courses: 1. 10 Additional Requirements by Department for PhD Students: In addition to the requirements of HEC, UET and CASE (department of higher studies), students must cater to the following important rules for completion of their PhD degree: A) All students must complete full course work i.e. 10 courses for PhD. B) Students with incomplete course work cannot register for research thesis and neither can they opt for research proposal defense. C) At max, student can appear two times for the PhD Proposal Defense, Final Defense and Pre Final Defense. Students are requested to please the department for format of PhD Proposal Defense and for the format of the presentation (Proposal, Pre Final and Final Defense).These documents are also available on CASE website in the DOWNLOAD section. D) Student must follow the DQE guidelines provided separately. E) All PhD students must maintain a CGPA of 3.5 throughout their PhD degree. It is important to note that students cannot register for research hours if their CGPA in their course work is < 3.5. IMPORTANT NOTES FOR ALL STUDENTS: 1. Students receive necessary guidelines from department before and at the time of registration in each semester. 2. PhD scholars must contact the academic department for understanding course work requirement of their PhD degree. 3. Department offers some elective courses each semester. These courses can be taken as per the guidelines by the department every semester. 4. For MEM, MPM and MM Students Admitted in FALL 2013 and onwards: a. The department of EM continually strives for the betterment of the curricula and for your better future. Keeping in view this requirement and the requirement from UET Taxila, it has been decided that Thesis is mandatory for students admitted in Fall 2013 and afterwards (until further notice). 5. For MEM, MPM and MM Students Admitted in Fall 2013: a. Students are requested to follow the guidelines important for thesis option as outlined in this document (above) respective to your degree. In case of problem(s), you are requested to meet the Chairman in person between 3 PM and 6 PM from 13 th of Jan 2014 to 17 th of Jan 2014 with printed copy of your transcript. 6. For MEM, MPM and MM Students Admitted before Fall 2013: a. Till date we do not have clear guidelines from UET Taxila but it is recommended that students pursue thesis option. Students are requested to follow the guidelines important for thesis option as outlined in this document (above) respective to your degree. In case of problem(s), you are requested to meet the Chairman in person between 3 PM and 6 PM from 13 th of Jan 2014 to 17 th of Jan 2014 with printed copy of your transcript. THESIS REQUIREMENT OF MSC:
11 A) There is no specific thesis requirement for MSc. The thesis must be carried out as per the discretion of the supervisor of the thesis. List of supervisors is available on CASE website (visit EM Department webpage and then Faculty Details). B) Students are requested to please consult the department for format of thesis and for the format of the final presentation of MSc Thesis. These documents are also available on CASE website in the DOWNLOAD section. C) All students must submit the Masters Thesis Topic Approval Form for EM Department before the semester in which they wish to register for the thesis. Students can only register in thesis after approval of this form by the department. This form is also available on CASE website in the DOWNLOADS section. D) Students are encouraged to publish their thesis research work in international reputed conferences and journal. Publication should be done with respective supervisor. Only two authors are allowed i.e. the student (as main author) and the supervisor (as co author). Reputed publications will result in better acceptance of the thesis (subject to relevant academic checks). E) All students must ensure that there is zero plagiarism in their MSc Thesis. All thesis documents must undergo language check (preferably from an English language expert) so as to eliminate language related issues. F) Students can only register for thesis after completion of Core Courses of their respective degree. It is, however, encouraged that students also complete courses that fall in the domain of Area of Specialization. G) Students are generally encouraged to work on theoretical contributions, practical case studies (preferably local), industrial projects Etc. H) Final copy of Thesis would be sent to convener of STEM society. *errors / omissions accepted
