Chapter 1: Introducton Introducton to your Router The TeleWell TW-EAV510 AC v2 s a fbre-ready ADSL2+/VDSL modem, an all-n-one advanced devce ntegratng Wreless-AC 1300Mbps, 1000 Mb Ethernet, 3G/4G/LTE, and NAS (Network Attached Storage) n one unt. As well as beng IPv6-capable, the TeleWell TW-EAV510 AC v2 ADSL2+ router supports super fast fbre connectons va dual-wan connectvty through a Ggabt Ethernet WAN port. Also, t also has a USB port, allowng the devce to act as a prnt server as well as a NAS (Network Attached Storage) devce wth DLNA (Dgtal Lvng Network Allance). Moreover, the USB port can host a 3G/4G/LTE modem connectng to the 3G/4G/LTE network for Internet access. Wth an array of advanced features, the TeleWell TW-EAV510 AC v2 delvers a future-proof soluton for ADSL2+ connectons, super fast FTTC and ultra-speed FTTH (Fbre-To-The-Home) network deployment and servces. Maxmum wreless performance Wth an ntegrated n Wreless Access Pont, the router delvers up to 6 tmes the speed of an b/g/n ac network devce. It supports a data rate of up to 300Mbps and s also compatble wth b/g/n ac equpment. The Wreless Protected Access (WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK) and Wreless Encrypton Protocol (WEP) features enhance the level of transmsson securty and access control over wreless LAN. The router also supports the W-F Protected Setup (WPS) standard, allowng users to establsh a secure wreless network by smply pushng a button. If your network requres wder coverage, the bult-n Wreless Dstrbuton System (WDS) repeater functon allows you to expand your wreless network wthout the need for any external wres or cables. 3G/4G/LTE Moblty and Always-on Connectvty Wth 3G/4G/LTE-based Internet connecton (requres an addtonal 3G/4G/LTE USB modem plugged nto the bult-n USB port), user can access nternet through 3G/4G/LTE, whether you are seated at your desk or takng a cross-country trp. The auto fal-over feature ensures optmum connectvty and mnmum nterrupton by quckly and smoothly connectng to a 3G/4G/ LTE network n the event that you ADSL/Fbre/Cable lne fals. The TeleWell TW-EAV510 AC v2 wll then automatcally reconnect to the ADSL/Fbre/Cable connecton when t s restored, reducng connecton costs. These features are perfect for offce stuatons when a constant and smooth WAN connecton s crtcal. IPv6 supported Internet Protocol verson 6 (IPv6) s a verson of the Internet Protocol that s desgned to succeed IPv4. IPv6 has a vastly larger address space than IPv4. Ths results from the use of a 128-bt address, whereas IPv4 uses only 32 bts. The new address space thus supports 2128 (about ) addresses. Ths expanson provdes flexblty n allocatng addresses and routng traffc and elmnates the prmary need for network address translaton (NAT), whch ganed wdespread deployment as an effort to allevate IPv4 address exhauston. The TeleWell TW-EAV510 AC v2 fully supports IPv6 (Internet Protocol Verson 6), launched as the current IPv4 range s fllng up, and IPv6 s gradually becomng the ndspensable addressng system for savvy cloud computng users. Dual stack means the router s capable of runnng IPv4 and IPv6 n parallel durng the transton perod. Wth TeleWell IPv6 enabled devces, three major transton mechansms such as Dual-Stack, Dual-Stack Lte, and 6RD (IPv6 rapd deployment) are supported to be adapted easly nto servce provder s IPv4/IPv6 network 3

Jumbo frames supported Jumbo frames are Ethernet frames wth more than 1500 bytes (standard Ethernet frame) of payload. Conventonally, jumbo frames can carry up to 9720 bytes of payload to enjoy a hgh-effcency communcaton n Ggabt Ethernet. Jumbo frames ncrease the frame sze so that a certan large amount of date can be transported wth less effort, reducng CPU utlzaton and ncreasng throughput by reducng the number of frames needng to be processed and reducng the total overhead byte count of all frames sent. Vrtual AP A Vrtual Access Pont s a logcal entty that exsts wthn a physcal Access Pont (AP). When a sngle physcal AP supports multple Vrtual APs, each Vrtual AP appears to statons (STAs) to be an ndependent physcal AP, even though only a sngle physcal AP s present. For example, multple Vrtual APs mght exst wthn a sngle physcal AP, each advertsng a dstnct SSID and capablty set. Alternatvely, multple Vrtual APs mght advertse the same SSID but a dfferent capablty set allowng access to be provded va Web Portal, WEP, and WPA smultaneously. Where APs are shared by multple provders, Vrtual APs provde each provder wth separate authentcaton and accountng data for ther users, as well as dagnostc nformaton, wthout sharng senstve management traffc or data between provders. You can enable the vrtual AP. Web Based GUI It supports web based GUI for confguraton and management. It s user-frendly and comes wth onlne help. It also supports remote management capablty for remote users to confgure and manage ths product. Frmware Upgradeable Devce can be upgraded to the latest frmware through the WEB based GUI. 4

LAN - Local Area Network A Local Area Network AN) s a shared communcaton system network where many computers are connected. Ths type of network s area defned and s usually lmted to a confned regon wthn a buldng. Ethernet Parameters Group Name: Ths refers to the group you set n Interface IP address: the IP address of the router. Default s Subnet Mask: the default Subnet mask on the router. IGMP Snoopng: Enable or dsable the IGMP Snoopng functon. Wthout IGMP snoopng, multcast traffc s treated n the same manner as broadcast traffc - that s, t s forwarded to all ports. Wth IGMP snoopng, multcast traffc of a group s only forwarded to ports that have members of that group. 34

When enabled, you wll see two modes: Standard Mode: In standard mode, multcast traffc wll flood to all brdge ports when no clent subscrbes to a multcast group. Blockng Mode: In blockng mode, the multcast data wll be blocked when there are no clent subscrbes to a multcast group, t won t flood to the brdge ports. LAN sde frewall: Enable to drop all traffc from the specfed LAN group nterface. After actvatng t, all ncomng packets by default wll be dropped, and the user on the specfed LAN group nterface can't access CPE anymore. But, you can stll access the nternet servce. If user wants to manage the CPE, please turn to IP Flterng Incomng to add the allowng rules. Note that all ncomng packets by default wll be dropped f the LAN sde frewall s enabled and user cannot manage ths CPE from the specfed LAN group. DHCP Server You can dsable or enable the DHCP (Dynamc Host Confguraton Protocol) server or enable the router s DHCP relay functons. The DHCP protocol allows your router to dynamcally assgn IP addresses to PCs on your network f they are confgured to obtan IP addresses automatcally. Dsable Dsable the DHCP Server functon. Enable Enable the DHCP functon, enter the nformaton wanted. Here as default. Start IP Address: The start IP address of the range the DHCP Server used to assgn to the Clents. End IP Address: The end IP address f the range the DHCP Server used to assgn to the Clents. Leased Tme (hour): The leased tme for each DHCP Clent. Opton 66: Clck Enable to actvate DHCP opton 66 for some specal devces, lke IPTV Set Box. The devces can get frmware or some specal servce from the TFTP server. User needs to set the IP or hostname of the TFTP server. DHCP Server Relay DHCP Server IP Address: Please enter the DHCP Server IP address. 35

Statc IP Lst The specfed IP wll be assgned to the correspondng MAC Address lsted n the followng table when DHCP Server assgns IP Addresses to Clents. Press Add to the Statc IP Lst. Enter the MAC Address, IP Address, and then clck Apply to confrm your settngs. But the IP assgned should be outsde the range of IP Alas Ths functon allows the creaton of multple vrtual IP nterfaces on ths router. It helps to connect two or more local networks to the ISP or remote node. IP Alas: Check whether to enable ths functon. IP Address: Specfy an IP address on ths vrtual nterface. Subnet Mask: Specfy a subnet mask on ths vrtual nterface. Clck Apply to apply your settngs. IPv6 Autoconfg The IPv6 address composes of two parts, the prefx and the nterface ID. There are two ways to dynamcally confgure IPv6 address on hosts. One s stateful confguraton, for example usng DHCPv6 (whch resembles ts counterpart DHCP n IPv4.) In the stateful autoconfguraton model, hosts obtan nterface addresses and/or confguraton nformaton and parameters from a DHCPv6 server. The Server mantans a database that keeps track of whch addresses have been assgned to whch hosts. 36

The second way s stateless confguraton. Stateless auto-confguraton requres no manual confguraton of hosts, mnmal (f any) confguraton of routers, and no addtonal servers. The stateless mechansm allows a host to generate ts own addresses usng a combnaton of locally avalable nformaton (MAC address) and nformaton (prefx) advertsed by routers. Routers advertse prefxes that dentfy the subnet(s) assocated wth a lnk, whle hosts generate an "nterface dentfer" that unquely dentfes an nterface on a subnet. An address s formed by combnng the two. When usng stateless confguraton, you needn t confgure anythng on the clent. Group Name: Here group refers to the group you set n Interface Groupng secton, you can set the parameters for the specfc group. Select the group by the drop-down box. For more nformaton please refer to Interface Groupng of ths manual. Statc LAN IPv6 Address Confguraton Interface Address / Prefx Length: Enter the statc LAN IPv6 address. IPv6 LAN applcaton DHCPv6 Server: Check whether to enable DHCPv6 server. DHCPv6 Server Type: Select Stateless or Stateful. When DHCPv6 s enabled, ths parameter s avalable. Stateless: If selected, the PCs n LAN are confgured through RA mode, thus, the PCs n LAN are confgured through RA mode, to obtan the prefx message and generate an address usng a combnaton of locally avalable nformaton (MAC address) and nformaton (prefx) advertsed by routers, but they can obtan such nformaton lke DNS from DHCPv6 Server. Stateful: f selected, the PCs n LAN wll be confgured lke n IPv4 mode, thus obtan addresses and DNS nformaton from DHCPv6 server. Start nterface ID: Enter the start nterface ID. The IPv6 address composed of two parts, thus, the prefx and the nterface ID. Interface s lke the Host ID compared to IPv4. End nterface ID: Enter the end nterface ID. Note: Interface ID does NOT support ZERO COMPRESSION "::". Please enter the complete nformaton. For example: Please enter "0:0:0:2" nstead of "::2". 37

Leased Tme (hour): The leased tme, smlar to leased tme n DHCPv4, s a tme lmt assgned to clents, when expres, the assgned ID wll be recycled and reassgned. Issue Router Advertsement: Check whether to enable ssue Router Advertsement feature. It s to send Router Advertsement messages perodcally. ULA Prefx Advertsement: Enable ths parameter to nclude the pv6 ULA address n the RA messages. ULA, unque local address, s an IPv6 address n the block fc00::/7. It s approxmately the IPv6 counterpart of the IPv4 prvate address. They are not routable n the global IPv6 Internet. RADVD Type: The way that ULA prefx s generated. Randomly Generated Statcally Confgured: select to set manually n the followng parameters. Prefx: Set the prefx manually. Preferred Lfe Tme: The ULA prefx lfe tme. When the tme s over, the ULA prefx s nvald any more, -1 means no lmt. Vald Lfe Tme: It s a tme threshold, when the tme s over, clents should obtan new IPv6 address from the router through RA; -1 means to be lmtless. MLD snoopng: Smlar to IGMP snoopng, lstens n on the MLD conversaton between hosts and routers by processng MLD packets sent n a multcast network, and t analyzes all MLD packets between hosts and the connected multcast routers n the network. Wthout MLD snoopng, multcast traffc s treated n the same manner as broadcast traffc - that s, t s forwarded to all ports. Wth MLD snoopng, multcast traffc of a group s only forwarded to ports that have members of that group. Standard Mode: In standard mode, multcast traffc wll flood to all brdge ports when no clent subscrbes to a multcast group. Blockng Mode: In blockng mode, the multcast data wll be blocked when there s no clent subscrbes to a multcast group, t won t flood to the brdge ports. Stateless and Stateful IPv6 address Confguraton Stateless: Two methods can be carred. Wth DHCPv6 dsabled, but Issue Router Advertsement Enabled Wth ths method, the PCs n LAN are confgured through RA mode, thus, the PCs n LAN are confgured through RA mode, to obtan the prefx message and generate an address usng a combnaton of locally avalable nformaton (MAC address) and nformaton (prefx) advertsed by routers. Wth both DHCPv6 and Issue Router Advertsement Enabled Wth ths method, the PCs addresses n LAN are confgured lke above method, but they can obtan such nformaton lke DNS from DHCPv6 Server. 38

Stateful: two methods can be adopted. Wth only DHCPv6 enabled Wth ths method, the PCs addresses are confgured the same as n IPv4, that s addresses are assgned by DHCPv6 server. Wth both DHCPv6 and Issue Router Advertsement Enabled Wth ths method, the PCs addresses are confgured the same lke above, and the address nformaton n RA packets wll be neglected. Interface Groupng Interface groupng s a functon to group nterfaces, known as VLAN. A Vrtual LAN, commonly known as a VLAN, s a group of hosts wth the common set of requrements that communcate as f they were attached to the same broadcast doman, regardless of the physcal locaton. A VLAN has the same attrbutes as a physcal LAN, but t allows for end statons to be grouped together even f they are not located on the same network swtch. Each group wll perform as an ndependent network. To support ths feature, you must create mappng groups wth approprate LAN and WAN nterfaces usng the Add button. (Please Note: P4 can be confgured as EWAN, and when the devce s n EWAN profle, there s no P4/EWAN nterface as P4 s workng as a WAN port.) 39

Group Isolaton: If enabled, devces n one group are not able to access those n the other group. Clck Add to add groups. 40

Group Name: Type a group name. Grouped WAN Interfaces: Select from the box the WAN nterface you want to appled n the group. Grouped LAN Interfaces: Select the LAN nterfaces you want to group as a sngle group from Avalable LAN Interfaces. Automatcally Add Clents wth followng DHCP Vendor IDs: Enter the DHCP Vendor IDs for whch you want the Clents automatcally added nto the group. DHCP vendor ID (DHCP 60) s an Authentcaton for DHCP Messages. Clck Apply to confrm your settngs and your added group wll be lsted n the Interface Groupng table below. In group "test", P2 and PPP0.1 are grouped n one group, they have ther only network, see LAN. If you want to remove the group, check the box as the followng and press Remove. Note: - If you lke to automatcally add LAN clents to a WAN Interface n the new group add the DHCP vendor ID strng. - By confgurng a DHCP vendor ID strng any DHCP clent request wth the specfed vendor ID (DHCP opton 60) wll be dened an IP address from the local DHCP server. - If a vendor ID s confgured for a specfc clent devce, please REBOOT the clent devce attached to the modem to allow t to obtan an approprate IP address. - Each LAN nterface can only be added nto one group and one WAN nterface can only be used n one group. 41

Wreless 2.4GHz and 5GHz Ths secton provdes you ways to confgure wreless access. The TW-EAV510 AC v2 supports wreless on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz for users. Ths part has sub-tems as Basc, Securty, MAC Flter, Wreless Brdge, Advanced and Staton Info here. Please select whch one wreless you want to confgure. Basc It let you determne whether to enable Wreless functon and set the basc parameters of an AP and the Vrtual APs. Wreless: Default settng s set to Enable. If you do not have any wreless devces, check the checkbox agan to unselect. 42

Hde SSID: It s functon n whch transmts ts SSID to the ar so that when wreless clent searches for a network, router can then be dscovered and recognzed. Check the checkbox to determne whether you want to hde SSID. Clents Isolaton: f you enabled ths functon, then each of your wreless clents wll not be able to communcate wth each other. Dsable WMM Advertse: Stop the router from advertsng ts Wreless Multmeda (WMM) functonalty, whch provdes basc qualty of servce for tme-senstve applcatons (e.g. VoIP, Vdeo). Check to dsable or enable ths functon. Wreless multcast Forwardng (WMF): check to enable or dsable wreless multcast forwardng. SSID: The SSID s the unque name of a wreless access pont (AP) to be dstngushed from another. For securty purpose, change the default SSID to a unque ID name to the AP already bult-n to the router s wreless nterface. It s case senstve and must not excess 32 characters. Make sure your wreless clents have exactly the SSID as the devce, n order to get connected to your network. Note: SSID s case senstve and must not exceed 32 characters. BSSID: Basc Set Servce Identfer, t s a local managed IEEE MAC address, and s 48 bts value. Country: Dfferent countres have dfferent wreless band resources, so you can select the approprate Country accordng to your locaton. Max Clents: enter the number of max clents the wreless network can supports,1-16. Guest/vrtual Access Ponts: A Vrtual Access Pont s a logcal entty that exsts wthn a physcal Access Pont (AP). Here you can enable some Vrtual APs accordng to the request. And the other parameters of vrtual APs are the same to the above. Clck Apply to apply your settngs. Securty Wreless securty prevents unauthorzed access or damage to computers usng wreless network. Note: The WPS feature wll also be unavalable when the securty settng s not WPA2 or OPEN. So, f you manually set the wreless securty settng, you should gve notce to t, but you can fnd prompt ndcatng confguraton. 43
