23 Alligator Alligator Staple Belt Fasteners Bolt Hinged For easy, economical installation and an exceptionally smooth joint, choose Alligator Belt Lacing Fastener System. Steel or stainless lacing is available in continuous lengths to fit any belt width. The hammer-applied splice requires no special installation tools and is ideal for low-volume users with belts up to 1/2" (13mm) thick. The Alligator Ready Set Staple, featuring one-piece fastener strips with preinserted staples, reduces installation time by eliminating the need to handle and load individual staples. The result is a strong splice that resists impact damage, as well as a smooth, unrippled joint that simplifies hinge pin insertion. For belts operating over smaller pulleys - such as in construction equipment and road machinery - Flexco Bolt Hinged fasteners are strong, dependable and easy-to-install. Rivet Hinged Bolt Solid Plate Rivet Solid Plate Designed for rubber plied and PVC solid woven belting, and for worn belts unfit for vulcanized splices, the Flexco SR Scalloped dge fastener features a low profile that significantly reduces the fastener's exposure to cleaner blades, skirt rubber, and return idlers. The staggered rivet pattern also provides maximum holding ability by allowing the rivets to pass between the carcass fibers without damaging them. Flexco Bolt Solid Plate fasteners are engineered to meet the demands of the toughest material-handling They can be applied to belts mechanically rated up to 620PIW (105 kn/m), and are commonly used on higher-tension main-haulage belts used for highly abrasive materials such as sand, gravel, and crushed stone, as well as coal, cement and salt. The heavy-duty Rivet Solid Plate Fastener System is recommended for the most demanding high-tension The staggered, multiple-point attachment delivers long-lasting holding ability for mechanical ratings up to 800 PIW (140 kn/m). Products Available From Wire Hooks The double-staggered grip pattern gives Clipper Wire Hooks exceptional holding power without degrading the integrity of the belt carcass. Today's splices also have a very low profile, making them increasingly more compatible with with conveyor components and compliant with the need to reduce operating noise. Choose from a wide selection of wire diameters, leg and point lengths, strip lengths and styles. 24 Fabrications Chevrons Chevrons of various cross sections enable the conveying of wet and/or loose materials up steep inclines. Prevents or reduces slide back of load. Chevrons can be made closed in the center or open for drainage. Scoop Cleats Scoop cleats are used to increase the product capacity for very steep inclines. Available in white or black; FDA and oilresistance where required. Smooth merge of cleat and belt cover means easy cleaning. Chevrons increase the amount of material moved by quick pick-up of materials at loading point. ndless Vulcanizing A hot vulcanized splice is stronger (and more sanitary) than a mechanical (laced) joint. ndless splicing eliminates fastener pull-out and the tearing of belt due to the catching of metal lacing on the conveyor. Vulcanized splices are particularly important where a mechanical splice is unacceptable due to sanitary food processing requirements where metal lacing can mar the product. ON BIAS ANGL ndless Prepared Belts can be supplied with ends already prepared to desired length but not vulcanized so that the customer may splice endless on the conveyor or drive. liminates the need to disassemble conveyor parts and/or bearings and shafts. PVC Skived Splice An economical splice procedure for light to medium duty Recommended for PVC-150 and lighter for both black and white food handling PVC belting. Suitable for magnetic conveyors. ndless splicing eliminates fastener pull-out and the tearing of belt or lacing due to the catching of the lacing on the conveyor. PVC Finger Splice A proven heavy duty splice procedure for single ply PVC belting. The splice area is the same thickness as the belt and uniformly smooth. ndless splicing eliminates fastener pull-out and the tearing of belt or lacing. Curved Cleats Curved cleats are used to increase product capacity on steep inclines and keep material centered on the belt. V-Guides Notched Available in O-A-B-C-D Sections. Notching enables a v-guided belt to operate on smaller pulley diameters. The v-guide eliminates tracking problems. Other sizes available upon request. Flanges Corrugated Corrugated sidewalls allow for greatly increased bulk haulage capacity and use of smaller pulley diameters on horizontal systems without the need for troughing idlers and skirting. Same increased capacity is achieved for steeply inclined systems when in combination with molded cleats. The scallop or waffle design expands and contracts as it bends around pulleys. 24 Perforated Belts Belt perforation is the art of punching a planned sequence of holes into a belt for a specific application. Often used in vacuum or drying operations, perforated belts are used to allow the flow-through of air. Perforated belts are commonly used in the board & panel industry as pre-compressor belts, in the paper industry for both paper sheeting and magazine inserts, and can be used to hold products precisely in place during conveying.

25 Fabrications Molded or Bonded Cleats Molded or Bonded Lugs ANY CNTRS ANY CNTRS Rounded tops and smooth merging of cleat and belt cover mean easy cleaning and bacteria-free operation so important in food processing. Also available in "Beefy" cleats. Lug construction features rugged v-belt shapes for impact resistance. Available in A, B and C cross sections (see molded v-guide section below for exact dimensions). Cleats and Lugs can be furnished as follows: 1) Indented in from each edge of belt. 2) Notched for troughing idlers or curved pans. 3) Cut-outs or voids. 4) Cut down to intermediate heights. Molded Flanges Molded V-Guides LIMINATS TRACKING PROBLMS Molded edging prevents the spilling of product off the belt. Free-flowing materials are contained without the need for troughing. Flanged belts may be made endless or conventionally laced. Care must be taken to operate flanged belts on sufficiently large diameter pulleys. 26 Rubber Cleated Belt All our rubber cleated belts are "Integrally Molded". This means that an uncured cleat or profile was cured in the press with an uncured virgin belt carcass, to form a one piece "integrally molded" belt construction. Various belt widths and cleat dimensions are available. Other cleat configurations available upon request. 27 Pulley Lagging Slide Lagging xclusive elastomer compounding provides a lagging pad with exceptional drive-pulley traction, abuse resistance and extra long service life. The elastomer retains its integrity under the most severe operation conditions. Factory hot-vulcanization under pressure assures the best possible bond of rubber to backing plate. No lagging failures from loss of adhesion and separation, the most common problems associated with conventional lagging. Steel backing plates are precision formed at the factory to fit the curved surface provided by each individual pulley diameter. Insures proper pad stability and long life. Rust-resistance metal retainers are permanently welded or bolted to the pulley face to securely hold the lagging pads in place. When properly installed, lagging cannot shift or pull free from the effects of impact, trapped material or belt or product movement. Traction pads can be used with or without retainers and is ideal for mining, crushed stone, sand and gravel, cement, agriculture, food processing, coal mining, power plants, feed and grain, and general industry. Available custom made per pulley diameter or formable. Rough Top Pulley Lagging Available for sheet wrap or spiral wrap method of lagging. This rugged material is constructed of a 3/32" type D top cover and a friction surface bottom cover. The carcass is a 2-ply or 3-ply 28 oz. duck. This type of lagging is both easy to install and economical. Pulley lagging gasket adhesive also available in quarts. One quart will cover approximately 91 square feet. SHT WRAP MTHOD OF APPLYING LAGGING SPIRAL WRAP MTHOD OF APPLYING LAGGING To determine the amount of spiral wrap needed for a pulley, the following equation is for 2" width: L = Length of strip C = Pulley circumference W = Pulley width L = C x W + C 2 27
