Professor with Panelists: Mark Talbott, Denver Postmaster Ken Sutter, Manager, Business Mail Acceptance, Lavern Reinhart, Mail Piece Design Analyst, Troy Fischer, Henry Wurst, Kate Sverre, Periodicals Specialist, USPS With shipping costs now known to be about 50% of logistics expenses, there is more urgency to tightly manage costs. Is shipping via USPS one way to accomplish cost reduction? It could be, but making the decision starts with an in depth understanding of "Cost of Ownership." Correct decisions are made by understanding and factoring the complex set of "hard criteria" such as weight, dimensions, delivery date, etc.
4 In this session, you will understand why the gray area exists between shipping via USPS and competitors, what the business impact is, how other companies are solving this issue and what the business benefits are. We will detail the complexities of shipping and where you are on the spectrum. You will see how other businesses make decisions and the impacts of making the right or wrong choices. You will also see how technology can be helpful in making good business decisions. This session will also include a review of USPS package shipments Simple Samples, Parcel Select Light Weight, Marketing Parcels, Priority Mail, International Priority Mail, etc. to help you select the correct USPS Shipping Mode.
