Wage of New Jobs... $64 K 2015 Oklahoma ranked No.10 among all states in economic growth in 2014, according to Bureau Economic Analysis. For every $1 in Roundtable support, private sector partners contribute an additional $3 toward business development efforts statewide. 164,350 Number of Employees Roundtable member companies represent Membership Meetings Feature State Leaders/Executives s fall membership meeting was held at the Governor s Mansion in October. Boeing executive Steve Hendrickson provided an informative program on workforce development within the state. Governor Fallin reported on the state s economic development activity. In December, Roundtable members and guests were treated to a memorable rendition of The Nutcracker at the annual Holiday Dinner at the State History Center in. Governor Mary Fallin Elise Eberwein, EVP of American Airlines was the featured speaker at the June Roundtable meeting at Southern Hills in. State leaders also provided an economic development report and legislative session review. Elise Eberwein, American Airlines Other Conversation meetings and events were held throughout the year. These included: Promoting 21st Century Skills for Students LEGO Education s Stephan Turnipseed addressed the World Creativity Forum in March. While here, the Roundtable hosted a special luncheon to discuss the importance of nurturing communication and leadership skills in our education process. Promoting Early Learning Initiatives Phil Peterson, deputy director for ReadyNation, held several education forums throughout the state in March, including a session at the State Capitol. His visit was coordinated with the OKCEO organization and Potts Foundation which promotes the expansion of Oklahoma early childhood education efforts. Dell Executive Visit to Oklahoma Business Expansion New Business Start-up Business Recruitment Growing Oklahoma s Aerospace Industry - Paris Air Show An Oklahoma business and economic development delegation, led by Governor Fallin, worked the world s largest aerospace trade show in Paris in June. Dozens of meetings were held with aerospace suppliers and prospects. More than 500 aerospacerelated companies make their home in the state of Oklahoma. The state s aerospace and defense industry supports 150,000 jobs. The Governor also made business calls in Germany and Italy. Paulsen scholarship winner also assists i2e with funding for special student Fellows programs and entrepreneurship workshops and events throughout the year. SXSW Promotes Oklahoma Start-Ups Governor & Nordam CEO Lt. Governor Todd Lamb continues to promote and help grow Oklahoma business. His efforts include the annual Turkey hunt in April held in five communities and targeted to site consultants and business prospects from across the nation; Small Business Day at the Capitol, and annual Young Professionals event. Ten Oklahoma companies and innovators were featured at the South by Southwest Conference (SXSW) in Austin in March. The conference annually attracts more than 70,000 participants in the areas of film, music and interactive. BIO International 2015 A delegation of more than 60 scientists and business leaders promoted Oklahoma s growing bioscience sector at the BIO Convention in Philadelphia in June. More than 190 partnering meetings were held. also supports OKBIO, the state s bioscience promotion association. Growing New Business Governor s Cup Recognizes Top Collegiate Business Students Managed by i2e, the Governor s Cup encourages students of Oklahoma universities and colleges to act upon their ideas and talents in order to produce tomorrow s businesses Roundtable funding was targeted to scholarships and general program support. Roundtable members also assisted with judging the competition. To date - more than 1500 college students have participated from 32 campuses statewide creating hundreds of new ideas and 23 emerging businesses. Governor s Cup Winning Team East Central University Oklahoma Quality Award Foundation 2015 Paulsen Scholarships (named for former Roundtable Don Paulsen) were presented to Miranda McNabb, East Central University and Austin Evans and Joshua Donaldson of the University of. Oklahoma exhibit booth at SXSW partnered with the and statewide groups to promote business growth and market the state as a destination for entrepreneurs and young creatives. First Robotics Competition supported the annual USFIRST Robotics regional competition held in March in. This project helps highschool students discover career potential in engineering and research. The regional included 61 teams and 1,200 students and mentors with over 100 event volunteers. The students build and program robots to perform prescribed tasks against a field of competitors. It s as close to real-world engineering as a student can get. Marketing & Education Initiatives supports dozens of marketing, education and promotion projects throughout the year. These include: Modeled after the respected and prestigious Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the Oklahoma Quality Award is an important benchmark for Oklahoma companies seeking continuous performance improvement. The Oklahoma Business Roundtable sponsors the annual Awards Luncheon held at the Governor s Mansion. Recent honorees were Video Gaming Technologies, ; Tri County Technology Center, Bartlesville and the Regional Chamber of Commerce. Roundtable members also participated in Sharing of Best Practices conferences in both and this past year. Oklahoma Venture Forum Salutes Continental Resources/ Welcomes GE Executive served as host for the annual meeting of the Oklahoma Venture Forum (OVF) on April 8th at the Governor s Mansion. This year, Roundtable member Harold Hamm received the OVF Chairman s Award for Economic Impact. Roundtable Chairman Rhonda Hooper and Governor Fallin welcome GE s Eric Gebhardt. Keynote speaker was Eric Gebhardt, Chief Technology Officer and Vice, Engineering at GE Oil & Gas. Gebhardt gave an overview of GE s overall technology program, and disussed plans for their new research center. STEM Summit Hosted by Governor Governor Fallin joined over 300 industry and education leaders at the 2nd Annual STEM Summit on October 7th in Oklahoma City. The summit was a business and educator forum to spotlight community and state initiatives in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). supported business education efforts of the newly created Oklahoma Educated Workforce Initiative. Oklahoma Education & Industry Partnership (OEIP) Over 80 classroom teachers from across the state participated in a July learning session to better connect STEM education between the classroom and business. Focused industries included energy, biotech, agribusiness and aerospace/defense. The organization provides teachers with the resources to infuse innovation and exciting instructional strategies in their classrooms.

Oklahoma Venture Forum Salutes Continental Resources/ Welcomes GE Executive served as host for the annual meeting of the Oklahoma Venture Forum (OVF) on April 8th at the Governor s Mansion. This year, Roundtable member Harold Hamm received the OVF Chairman s Award for Economic Impact. Roundtable Chairman Rhonda Hooper and Governor Fallin welcome GE s Eric Gebhardt. Keynote speaker was Eric Gebhardt, Chief Technology Officer and Vice, Engineering at GE Oil & Gas. Gebhardt gave an overview of GE s overall technology program, and disussed plans for their new research center. STEM Summit Hosted by Governor Governor Fallin joined over 300 industry and education leaders at the 2nd Annual STEM Summit on October 7th in Oklahoma City. The summit was a business and educator forum to spotlight community and state initiatives in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). supported business education efforts of the newly created Oklahoma Educated Workforce Initiative. Oklahoma Education & Industry Partnership (OEIP) Over 80 classroom teachers from across the state participated in a July learning session to better connect STEM education between the classroom and business. Focused industries included energy, biotech, agribusiness and aerospace/defense. The organization provides teachers with the resources to infuse innovation and exciting instructional strategies in their classrooms.
