1 TRANSFER ARTICULATION AGREEMENT between DOMINICAN COLLEGE and BERGEN COUNTY TECHNICAL HIGH SCHOOL General Stipulations Students who graduate with a high school diploma from Bergen County Technical High School and simultaneously with an A.A., or an A.S. degree from Bergen Community College with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 from each institution, will be granted upper-level status at Dominican College. Certain programs at Dominican College have higher GPA and further admissions standards, as specified in the Dominican College catalogue. These graduates will be considered as freshman at the application stage for the purpose of eligibility for academic scholarships. Scholarships will be based on the graduate s high school gpa and SAT/Act scores. Upon transferring into Dominican College, graduates of the two institutions will be awarded up to a maximum of 70 credits earned at Bergen Community College as applicable to specified programs and/or institutional requirements at Dominican College. For Bergen Community College graduates with an associate s degree, courses for transfer must have been passed with a grade of C- or better. Course equivalencies are provided in Appendix A1 and A2. Each transferring student will be assigned a program faculty advisor, who will assist the student in charting a comprehensive academic program plan allowing for graduation in the shortest time possible, usually two years of full-time study or its part-time equivalent. Students who transfer from to Dominican College are expected to adhere to general academic policies and procedures required for admission to the College, and to fulfill any particular requirements (regarding GPA, prerequisites, clinical experience, etc.) that may be in place for certain academic programs at the College. The Dominican College catalogue and, in some cases, program-specific student manuals, specify in detail all relevant policies and procedures. All transfer students will need to satisfy Dominican s General Education Curriculum requirements, which include components in (I) General Skills, (II) Roots of Contemporary Life and Culture, (IIIA) Science, and (IIIB) Values. These requirements are outlined in the Dominican College catalogue. Note: all transfer students are required to complete an English Competency exam regardless of the number of Writing courses completed at Bergen Community College or elsewhere. Students not successful on the exam are provided additional support at Dominican through the required course Eng. 115, Advanced Writing. Both Bergen Community College and Dominican College agree to keep each other informed of program changes in a timely way. 1
