This Knowledge Access is designed for individuals responsible for the installation, configuration, and management of Avaya Configuration and Orchestration Manager (COM) and those attempting to earn the ASPS - Avaya Virtualization Provisioning Service (VPS) credential. It is included in the 0D00090E Knowledge Collection Access: Networking Implementation and Support bundle. Enrolled students have 12 months unlimited access to all content referenced below and related online tests. All students are different and some may be able to do more for longer, but we have seen the greatest levels of understanding and retention from those students that spread the training over time and use half day blocks. 7 Room 1: Network Management and COM Overview In this room, you will explore Network Management protocols and the Configuration and Orchestration Manager. Avaya Learning recommends consuming the learning topics in the following order: - FCAPS Management - Network Management Protocols - COM Feature Overview - COM Navigation - COM Wizards and Templates - COM Tools The information in this room will enable you to: - Differentiate the primary network management tasks involved in each network management priciple defined in FCAPS. - Interpret the purpose of different management protocols. - Visualize the different features available within the Configuration and Orchestration Manager user interface. - Define the options available for administration. - Outline the three wizards available and identify functions available for template management. - Identify the seven tools available and examin the function of integrated bulk configuration management. 8 Room 2: System Manager and COM Installation In this room, you explore the System Manager platform and COM installation. Avaya Learning recommends consuming the learning topics the in the following order: - System Manager Hardware Architecture Overview - System Manager Installation Video - COM Licensing - Prerequisites and Installation - Device Credentials The information in this room will enable you to: - Determine the licensing requirements for COM. - Identify prerequisites and upgrade requirements. - Identify the credentials COM is able to store and evaluate the procedure for adding new credentials. 9 Room 3: Topology In this room, you will learn how to preform network discovery and application configuration. Avaya Learning recommends consuming the learning topics in the following order: - Topology View - Topology Display and Troubleshooting - COM Network Discovery - Enterprise Device Manager Plug-in - EDM Plugins, CAT and Role Based Access - System Log Table Configuration and Traps - COM Traps and Logs - Topology View and Device Connectivity Tools The information in this room will enable you to: - Examine how the topology view is used and what criteria can be displayed. - Interpret the different ways devices are displayed and what that means. - Review the installed license files and configure COM to use seed devices to discover the network and devices connected to the server. - Install and use the Enterprise Device Manager plug-in. - Install an EDM plugin for COM and explore the results of a configuration audit to check the configuration of a switch. - Outline user administration and authentication procedures. - Determine how to apply the topology view to investigate or resolve network status. - Interpret the Trap/Log Manager configuration options and assess the different display options in the system log table. - Review the configuration process to make COM perform as a trap and syslog receiver.
