The lectures and lab exercises walk you through the steps of creating and configuring service applications and web applications to build out an on-premises farm with SharePoint 2016 functionality for managed metadata, user profiles, My Sites, search and external connections. You will get hands-on experience with the Business Data Connectivity Service (BCS), the Secure Store Service, the Managed Metadata Services, the User Profile Service and the Search Service in SharePoint This course will teach you SharePoint administration techniques using both Central Administration and Windows PowerShell. You will learn how to work with the SharePoint logging and health monitoring tools as well as how to configure a web application to support Windows authentication with Kerberos using SSL. The course examines how to deploy and manage a SharePoint 2016 environment with custom components such as SharePoint apps and SharePoint solutions. You will learn how to install and integrate Workflow Manager to provide support for running SharePoint 2013 workflows. 2 MODULE 01: Topology Planning and Installation This module introduces the architecture of SharePoint 2016 while highlighting the aspects of product which have been enhanced in this new release. This topic discusses the various topology options to be considered when creating a SharePoint farm and how to design a fault tolerant farm. This module steps through the details required to prepare for and install SharePoint Server 2016 in an on-premises environment. There will be an initial discussion of the hardware requirements and software requirements for installing SharePoint Students will create dedicated service accounts in Active Directory and learn how to run the SharePoint 2016 Prerequisite Installer both connected and disconnected from the Internet.
