3 EN Electroless Nickel plating is a chemically applied, uniformly deposited, protective coating that provides superior corrosion and friction resistance and significantly increases the life of carbon and stainless steel parts. Thickness varies according to the environment in which the part operates, but typically ranges from 1-3 thousandths of an inch. The hardness of an EN plated part can be significantly enhanced through an additional heat treating process. The combination of trained and experienced staff, new equipment, and the largest tank capacity in the Southwest, allows HP&C to produce the highest quality and fastest turnaround EN plating services to a broad range of industries. HP&C is committed to providing attentive and dependable service to assure that critical delivery dates for time sensitive components are met. EN services are offered at HP&C s South Houston and Louisiana plants. With a combined tank capacity of over 12,000 gallons, HP&C & LP&C have the ability to handle the largest nickel plating jobs efficiently. SPRAY COATINGS HP&C also offers a wide variety of spray coating applications, including: multi-coat epoxy systems, molybdenum disulfide, Xylan, and Teflon coatings. All parts are carefully inspected, thoroughly cleaned, and masked as necessary, before coating and curing. Each order undergoes multiple inspections to assure that it meets rigorous quality standards. In addition to ISO Certification, HP&C is one of the few plating and coating companies in the Houston-area that employs a Level III NACE Certified Coating Inspector on staff as well as several other NACE certified inspectors. HP&C offers an extensive range of coatings that matches customer specifications and allows HP&C customers to have virtually all their coating needs provided at one location, saving time and reducing cost. Spray coating services are offered at all 4 of its plants but with a limited selection at its Tyler location.

4 SBN-QPQ SM HP&C is the only company in Houston and Louisiana authorized to provide the remarkable salt bath nitriding/ quench-polish-quench finishing process. SBN-QPQ is particularly important to those oil field service companies whose parts operate for extended periods in highly corrosive environments and are subject to high levels of friction. SBN-QPQ is a heat-treating/diffusion process that adds no measurable dimensions while hardening the surface of the part (up to three times the strength of steel), thereby producing superior wear resistance, improved fatigue strength, and surface lubricity. Parts to be treated with SBN-QPQ process must be heattreated and tempered at least 1,075 degrees before processing. The SBN-QPQ process provides excellent corrosion protection of cast iron, carbon and stainless steel components, and is an effective and environmentally acceptable alternative to chrome and cadmium coatings. The SBN-QPQ process produces a cosmetically appealing black finish PHOSPHATE A phosphate coating is typically used as a pretreatment (primer) prior to coating or painting which increases corrosion protection, lubricity (the friction properties of sliding components) and adhesion of the top coat. Phosphate coatings, along with a top coat of oil are also widely utilized as an interim coating for inventoried and threaded parts to prevent rusting and/or galling. The phosphating process is a reaction that occurs on an iron base substrate when the part is immersed in the phosphate solution. The primary benefits from phosphate coating are strong adhesion and corrosion protection. There are very few environmental concerns regarding the use of phosphate coatings. HP&C offers two different types of phosphate Manganese and Zinc. Manganese phosphate coating is softer than zinc phosphate coating and provides superior corrosion and anti-galling properties. Zinc phosphate coating has a larger crystal structure than manganese which provides for better adhesion of various high performance top-coats. Manganese phosphate is offered at its South Houston and Humble facilities while zinc phosphate is offered at all 4 of its locations.

5 HP&C A Double Winner In National TOP SHOP Survey Houston Plating & Coatings has been selected as a Top Shop by Products Finishing magazine in its annual survey of the nation s finishing shops in both the plating and coatings categores. HP&C is only one of three finishing companies in Texas selected for the recognition in plating, and one of only four in the nation selected in both the plating and coatings categoies. The Products Finishing Top Shops Benchmarking Survey included more than 40 questions with the top 50 shops being recognized nationally as tops in the plating category Humble Plant Expansion HP&C s Humble plant expansion delivers additional capabilities to better serve North Houston manufacturers. HP&C significantly expanded its phosphate, spray coating, and SBN-QPQ capabilities to meet increasing demand at its Humble, TX facility. Located off Wilson Road, the expanded plant site consists of six production buildings and an office building on five acres. The additional production facilities include: A 20 Manganese Phosphate line with a five-ton lifting capacity crane; A twin pot, 12,000 sq. ft. dedicated salt bath nitride (SBN-QPQ) line; Two additional ovens and a spray booth to increase spray coating capacity and line speed. Louisiana Plating & Coatings In 2013 Louisiana Plating & Coatings (LP&C), a wholly owned division of Houston Plating & Coatings, completed construction of an 80,000+ sq. ft. full service facility in Scott, Louisiana. The new facility employs approximately 100 employees when fully operational and provides Louisiana manufacturers with a wide variety of corrosion protection services, including electroless nickel plating, salt bath nitriding (SBN-QPQ), phosphate, and spray coatings. The seven-acre plant encompasses nearly three and one-half acres under roof and serves oilfield equipment manufacturers and other companies throughout Louisiana as well as the neighboring states of Oklahoma and Arkansas.
