1 Government of Macao Special Administrative Region Statistics and Census Service SURVEY ON MANPOWER NEEDS AND WAGES GAMING SECTOR 4 TH QUARTER / 2012 Coverage of the Survey on Manpower Needs and Wages of the Gaming Sector for the fourth quarter of 2012 comprises a total of 13 gaming enterprises in Macao, excluding junket promoters and junket associates. Employees At the end of the fourth quarter of 2012, the Gaming Sector had employees, up by 9.2% year-on-year. An analysis by occupation indicated that were dealers, an increase of 6.9%, and were hard & soft count clerks, cage cashiers, pit bosses, casino floorpersons, betting service operators, etc., up by 8.9%. 2 DSEC 4 th Quarter/2012 GAMING SECTOR Vacancies and Turnover of Employees Job vacancies totalled at the end of the fourth quarter of 2012, down by 130 year-on-year. There were vacancies for dealers, down by 295. Hard & soft count clerks, cage cashiers, pit bosses, casino floorpersons, betting service operators, etc., had 393 vacant posts, an increase of 195. Besides Cantonese, other preferred language skills were Mandarin (92.4%) and English (85.2%). 2

Decrease in the employee turnover rate (3.8%) and the job vacancy rate (3.8%), by 2.8 and 0.6 percentage points respectively, indicated that human resources of the Gaming Sector were more stable compared with Employee Turnover Rate and Recruitment Rate % Employee recruitment rate Employee turnover rate Q4/2010 Q2/2011 Q4/2011 Q2/2012 Q4/2012 Earnings In December 2012, average earnings of full-time employees reached MOP18 040, up by 7.9% year-on-year. Average earnings of full-time resident employees increased by 8.4% to MOP18 080, while that of non-resident employees decreased slightly by 0.4% to MOP Average earnings amounted to MOP for dealers, MOP for hard & soft count clerks, cage cashiers, pit bosses, casino floorpersons, betting service operators, etc. and MOP for casino & slot machine attendants, security guards, surveillance room operators, etc., up by 8.8%, 5.4% and 11.4% respectively year-on-year. 3

Employee recruitment rate - the percentage of newly recruited full-time employees in the average total number of full-time employees in the reference quarter. According to the International Standard Classification of s of the International Labour Organization, positions such as dealers, casino floorpersons, cage cashiers, etc. are grouped under Clerks. Earnings refer to the amount paid to employees for the hours worked or services provided during the reference period, including basic salary, regular allowances, subsidies, gratuities, overtime payments and regular payments-in-kind.
