1 TAB Number: TB Temporary Solution for Ghost Operation failing on Intellex Ultra v4.3 Date Issued: 13 July, 2010 Issue Product Model Software Part Numbers Intellex Ultra 4.3 ADD600ULPV200N ADD600ULPV100 ADD600ULPV200 ADD600ULPV300 ADD600ULPV400 ADD600ULPV400WCJ An issue has been found which affects all Intellex Ultra Non-Raid models with BIOS revision S3200X38.86B The primary symptoms are: There is the potential when performing a recovery that the ghost operation may fail due to the drives being presented in the wrong order leading to a failed recovery operation and/or loss of video data on the data partitions. In addition, 2, 3 or 4 drive models need to be considered due to possible G,H,I drive/sata port mismatch and a procedure added for these. Refer to technical bulletin TB NTLX Ultra HD Incorrect Ident.pdf for further information on this issue. NOTE: If you are replacing a hard drive refer to TB NTLX Ultra HD Incorrect Identity, visit: to download the technical bulletin. S olution To resolve this issue a temporary solution has been identified which must be followed for any system restore (recovery) of the system and supplementary (E:) drives until a permanent solution available. The procedures here replace the procedures described on pages 1 to 4 of the Intellex Ultra 4.3 Recovery Procedures manual (Part Number: A0). American Dynamics 6600 Congress Avenue Boca Raton, FL USA 1

2 Procedure Intellex Ultra Non-R AID Configuration The procedure for recovery of the Intellex Ultra system information depends on the level of recovery required: System flash drive only E: drive files E: drive Replacement System flash plus E: drive replacement NOTE: The Intellex Recovery DVD will be required to perform the following procedures. It is important that the drive designated as E: is assigned to the 20 GB partition on the first hard drive. The E: drive also contains the page file pagefile.sys. If the E: drive is not the 20 GB partition or the page file pagefile.sys appears on the C: drive, abnormal operation can occur. Run the file C:\DriveShuffle.cmd to re-order the drives.
