1 ALH Careers in Healthcare 3 Credit Hours Course Description: This course explores different careers in healthcare which require skilled healthcare professionals and practitioners. The course discussions include places of employment, educational requirements, licensures, occupational descriptions, and career opportunities. Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, students will: Know the name and descriptions of each health care occupation Understand factors that affect professional performance Describe the career, professional skills, and procedures performed by a particular specialty. For example, students are expected to communicate with the instructor as a learning resource, students must check the course news board frequently for announcements, and students must actively participate in threaded discussion events. Late Policy: Students must submit all assignments, projects, discussions, and tests by the assigned due date. If the student has an emergency, s/he should contact the instructor immediately to discuss with the instructor.

In addition to other possible disciplinary sanctions that may be imposed, the instructor has the

Be respectful of other s ideas. Be patient and read the comments of other group members thoroughly before entering your remarks. Be cooperative with group leaders in completing assigned tasks. Be positive and constructive in group discussions. Respond in a thoughtful and timely manner.
