Participated in an evaluation of Georgia s mental health and substance abuse treatment programs. Assisted with the development of the Institute s Peach State Poll and conducted survey research. Researcher, Metropolitan Center, Florida International University (July 1999 to June 2000). Conducted policy research on local economic development, inner-city revitalization, and substance abuse programs. Responsibilities also included data base management, quantitative analysis, and writing technical reports. Contract Administrator, City of Coral Gables (May 1998 to June 1999). Responsibilities included administering city s formal bid process, drafting technical specifications and designing performance measurement systems for all new service contracts, performing contract management duties and vendor performance evaluations, performing price, benefit-cost and trend analyses, and leading cross-functional teams in the development of technical specifications. Operations & Management Consultant, Florida Department of Revenue (July 1997 to May 1998). Responsibilities included performing a program evaluation of privatization initiatives for the Child Support Enforcement (CSE) Program, process mapping statewide enforcement practices, and designing customer satisfaction surveys. Developed manual for CSE s first enforcement practices benchmarking effort, and designed the performance measurement system for the State s New Hire Reporting request for proposal. Research Assistant, Institute of Government, Florida International University (April 1997 to July 1997). Assisted with policy research on local government crime prevention and economic development issues. Responsibilities also included quantitative analysis of U.S. Census data for a US Housing and Urban Development study of the impact of interstate highway construction on inner-city communities.
