The device synchronously presents sound using headphones and tactile representations to an intra-oral array on the tongue. The device presents sound to the senses of hearing and touch thus giving the brain a multimodal basis for sound discrimination to harness inherent neurological mechanisms that suppress illusory percepts such as the sounds of Tinnitus.
