Thus we prepared a Demo cloud where you can create, set-up, re-configure and use virtual servers without any limitations. All the VMs are accessible via public IP addresses through internet. 1. 2 2. Add a virtual machine as an vapp (virtual application) vapp is configured out of one or many virtual machines, intended to host and serve multi-tier applications. In this manual we will deploy a single vapp, containing a single virtual machine. 3. Choose vapp from our public catalog You will find»centos«and»windows«templates in our public catalogs. In this demo we will deploy a CentOS vapp. p.s.: if you wish so, you can even try to build vapp with your own configuration, in this case you should select»build New vapp«.

3 4. Enter a name for the vapp 5. Enter a name for the VM and storage profile

4 6. Enter some basic information about the VM: name and network (you should choose»demo-dmz«with»static IP Pool«) 7. Review your settings and confirm the creation of the vapp/vm

5 8. Check the status of creation/deploying at the Home screen Click»Open«on yours vapp box. You'll see a diagram of your vapp, containing a single VM. Click on the»virtual Machines«tab, then click on the name of the VM. There you'll see the settings of the VM.

6 Click on the tab»guest OS Customization«, and select»allow local administrator password«and»auto generate password«. 9. Start your vapp (and virtual server)

7 10. Check your VM's root/administrator password and IP address Check your IP at»my Cloud«/»your vapp«/»tab Virtual Machines«/ IP address section. Check the password at»my Cloud«/»your vapp«/»tab Virtual Machines«/»click on your VM«/»tab Guest OS Customization«/ see the password at the section»password Reset«. Username is»administrator«for Windows server and»root«for CentOS server. To establish a connection to jour VM you will need a ssh or RDC client. 11. Open the console to access your VM The console opens in a new window and installs a browser plugin called»vmware Remote Console Plugin«; after the installation you might need to restart your browser an log-in to the Demo cloud once again. You should be patient when using»vmware Remote Console Plugin«. The console is somehow CPU intensive and is using significant network bandwidth. If you can only see a black screen, then please click in the top left corner of the black screen and wait a few second for the VM console to show. To use Ctrl+Alt+Del inside of console just press the Ctrl+Alt+Ins combination, which is then translated into Ctrl+Alt+Del inside the console.
