1 Autodesk China R&D (Shanghai) Internship Projects July to December 2016 (6-Month, Full Time) Position 1: Intern Software Development (AutoCAD) Conduct research work on prototype of Next Generation API including Vulcan, Dx11, Mental, and applications of computer shader such as splines, hatches, to name a few. The successful intern will gain hands on exposure to Next Generation API and computer shader, which are two major trends for GPU adoption to AutoCAD. Position 2: Intern Software Developer (AutoCAD) The successful intern will be exposed to a dynamic R&D environment. S/He will do research using Windows Server Docker to install and run application. When running windows test application in continuous integration, it is a challenge to clean the environment after each run. This internship offers real life exposure to potential solutions that are critical to testing AutoCAD for Windows in Continuous Integration. 2 Position 3: Intern Software Developer (AutoCAD) The successful intern will be exposed to a dynamic R&D environment. S/He will do research using Windows Server Docker to install and run application. When running windows test application in continuous integration, it is a challenge to clean the environment after each run. Position 4: Intern Maya (Media & Entertainment) Our new Maya intern will be working on a Hololens prototype in Maya, learning how to develop applications for Hololens. This 6-month full-time project also requires the intern to explore possibilities to integrate Hololens to Maya tool chains, and workflows. This role also includes designing, implementing and documenting a Hololens prototype which can potentially be (but not limited to) a Maya plugin. Gain hands on exposure on how to integrate Microsoft Hololens to Maya At least 3 years hands-on programming experience with C++ Excellent problem solving skills. Ability to develop algorithms based on GPU. Ability to quickly learn and understand new algorithm. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English Education: Candidates of BS or MS in Computer Science or related field. Familiarity with Maya API/MEL/Python, open CL/CUDA, OpenGL or DirectX preferred Good team player who is able to work in a large team environment, but capable of operating independently as well. 2

3 Position 5: Intern Exchange Apps (Cloud Platforms) The successful intern will gain valuable experience working on design work to: Replace backend CMS with self-written services Add value services for Autodesk s flagship product subscribers Provide support for paid Apps using Forge APIs Sharpen your technical skills Degree in Industry Design or Software Engineering At least 2 years of hands-on UI design Excellent problem solving skills Ability to develop industry workflow Ability to quickly learn and understand new knowledge Excellent oral and written communication skills in English Education: Candidates of BS or MS in Industry Design, software engineering or related field. Familiarity with web/mobile design will be adding point. Position 6: Intern Fusion API & Forge Platform (Manufacturing Product Group) Fusion is the most advanced Product Innovation Platform in Autodesk that targets to provide users full power and flexibility in collaborative design/simulation/manufacturing. Forge is the platform of Autodesk targeting to provide customers support as AWS for Amazon customers. This project will investigate the approach of integrating Fusion API packages with Forge platform that will serve both external customers and internal product development. Degree in Industry Design or Software Engineering Experience in C++ and script language like Javascript and/pr Python Good English communication Good analytical ability Interest in API framework and API based development Web tech / UX Position 7: Intern Inventor (Manufacturing Product Group) Autodesk Inventor is a computer-aided design application for creating 3D digital prototypes used in the design, visualization and simulation of products. The successful intern will work on improving the Inventor building speed. This will save developers round-trip time, and reduce the automation running time. Intern will work with team on Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery for Inventor. 3

4 Degree in Industry Design or Software Engineering Visual Studio, C++ Position 8: Intern Fusion (Manufacturing Product Group) The successful intern will benefit from hands on exposure to customer pilot projects for Fusion 360, espeically new focused areas functions (E.g. User Experiences, Generative Design, Electro-Mechanical, TSpline etc.) from real users and new learners perspectives. The intern will also need to share learning experiences in public Fusion Gallery/forum. Degree in Industrial Design, News Media, or other design related Majors such as Graphic Design, Visulization Design, etc. Quick learner and good communication Position 9: Intern Software Engineer (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) Are you interested in Virtual Reality (VR)/Augmented Reality (AR) technology? If the answer is yes, this internship is for you! VR / AR technology starts to show their disruption to the building industry. VR/AR brings the ability to view full-sized objects in real-world context and enables true collaboration when multiple people are working on the same design. While CAD software has become a long way in improving the design process, it still has its limitations. This intern would explore the possibilities of applying VR/AR technology in BIM industry. The intern would work with users to understand current needs and build up a prototype that simulate one workflow to leverage VR/AR + Revit. By doing so, we hope to gain a deeper understanding of how VR/AR could be used in BIM industry in the future. 5 Position 10: Intern Engineering Data (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) This project requires technical research work. Candidates who enjoy doing research and are keen in Autodesk s design related softwares will enjoy this role. Since R2017, Civil 3D breaks drawing compatibility. The data translator service will need to support different servers for different C3D version. The successful intern will do research on job dispatch, and also support multiple releases servers. Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field Possess rich experience of.net Framework, C#, and VB.NET Cloud Service development experience is nice to have Experience of C++/COM is ideal Rich experience in web development such as HTML, HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript is preferred Position 11: Intern Product Development (Architecture, Engineering & Construction) Autodesk has been the leading pioneer to work with several major construction companies for such PaaS service offering. The IQ PaaS service will also provide event prediction and clarifier system for other web front end applications such as check list and quality issue and safety management. The successful intern will work closely with our BIM360 IQ team. The team is working on the next generation of business intelligent metrics and analytics based on the Big Data modeling and machine learning patterns. It will be the first sub-contractors and trade partner scoring system for the construction industry.
