5 Preface SST Operations Bridge Web Client is specially designed to provide an across-the-board solution for monitoring Problem, Change and Asset management in your Terminal environment over the Internet. The SST Operations Bridge Web Client Guide provides a reference source for optimizing, customizing and using the functionalities available with SST/OB Web Client. Before You Begin As the administrator who administers the SST/OB Web Client, you should be familiar with the Terminal environment, HP NonStop Servers, network protocols, client/server architecture, and basic Microsoft Windows navigation. 7 1 SST/OB Web Client: Overview This chapter provides an overview of the SST/OB Web Client and lists the main features the software offers. The chapter also points out the advantages SST/OB web Client offers. 1-1 What is SST/OB Web Client? The infrastructure supporting the Terminal environment can be both complex and extremely diverse. Management of such an environment requires a consistent, service oriented and Enterprise fluent approach. SST Operations Bridge (SST/OB) Web Client is specially designed as a web-based solution for monitoring the Terminal environment, allowing you to clearly see what is happening with your business, in the monitoring of normal operations along with detection and management of problem situations, before they can impact your business. SST/OB Web Client provides platform and location independence by providing the ability to monitor your Terminal environment through a web-browser like the Microsoft Internet Explorer. 8 Figure 1-1 SST/OB Web Client 1-2 Features & Benefits Real-Time Monitoring SST/OB Web Client provides the monitoring of the Terminal environment through the following methods: Terminal data file based monitoring Event based monitoring Together, they ensure round-the-clock real-time monitoring of precious Terminal network. SST/OB Web Client provides the latest information about Terminals in real-time such as acknowledged and closed Terminals. This way, the operations staff can take appropriate recovery actions when abnormal conditions occur, ensuring continuous management of your Terminal environment. Flexible Web-Based Monitoring Being a web-based product, SST/OB Web Client enhances the flexibility of monitoring the Terminal environment by providing platform and location independence to the user. Dashboards Real-time SST/OB Dashboards provide you business intelligence across all areas of your terminal environment. Dashboards offer instant snapshots of key performance indicators, enabling you to spend your time analyzing and acting on your key data rather than gathering it. Views categorize each state as a different container and display the individual terminals falling under that category. The software comes fully loaded with canned, readyto-use dashboards. Local and Policy Views Views are the building blocks for creating Dashboards. A Dashboard can contain one or more views. Pin-Point Impact of Outages SST/OB Web Client provides the ability of tracking Terminal status for normal and abnormal conditions in realtime as and when they happen. You can immediately see when and where a problem occurs on your Terminal network, drill-down to identify the root cause of the problem. This provides you with a proactive approach and helps you to deliver improved customer service. SST/OB Web Client: Overview 8

9 Information at Your Fingertips The SST/OB Web Client has been designed for people who want to stay in control of their business. The Terminal details can be provided at the following levels: General Events Cash Faults Transactions Action History Custom Information Map Messages Charts You can further select individual tabs to get detailed information. Ability to Acknowledge Events SST/OB Web Client provides the facility to Acknowledge. Unacknowledge, and Close problems on Terminals. It allows users to manage problems that have been resolved. Industry Leading Performance SST/OB Web Client details the status of all the Terminals in a network that are defined in the Terminal definition files. It identifies Terminal statistics on all resource nodes defined in the targeted logical network, with data updated continuously. Common Terminal types (Diebold and NCR) are supported; however, other Terminal types may be bound into this application for your environment. Search Option SST/OB Web Client facilitates easy search by Name, City, Region and Fault.It gives quick search results available for the specified criteria. The detail of a particular search result can be further obtained by clicking on the search result. Ability to Execute Commands SST/OB Web Client provides the facility to run commands on the specific terminals. Ability to View Reports SST/OB provides you with the flexibility to generate different reports according to the customer requirements. 10 2 Getting Started This chapter details the steps to get started with the SST/OB Web Client. SST/OB Web Client provides a platform and location independence by giving the ability to monitor the Terminal transactions through a web-browser like the Microsoft Internet Explorer. NOTE: In case if you are accessing SST/OB Web page using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you should turn off the popup blocker feature. This topic provides information on how to access SST/OB Web Server On the System where SST/OB Web Server is Installed To access the SST/OB Web page on a system where the SST/OB Web Server is installed, use Start Programs HP SST SST OB Web Server OB Webpage option On the System where HP SST/OB Web Server is not Installed To access the SST/OB web page from a system where the SST/OB web Server is not installed, open a web browser and enter the SST/OB home page address in the following format: IIS default web port is 80: Address>/SSTOB IIS default web port is NOT 80: Address>:< TCP/IP Port >/SSTOB Where, <IP Address> is the IP address of the system where SST/OB Web Server is installed. <TCP/IP Port> is the TCP/IP Port of the system where SST/OB Web Server is installed. 11 Associated with each logon is a profile, which determines the information a user can view or the actions a user can take. The admin logon has special privileges. These privileges are set by default for the admin user. You need to enter the user name and the password in the User Name and Password fields respectively, to access the SST/OB Web Client. NOTE: The default administrator User Name is admin and Password is blank. The authenticity of the information specified is checked. In case the information is not correct, a message Could not login with the given credentials is displayed. Getting Started Getting Started 11

12 3 SST/OB Web Client: Concepts 3-1 SST/OB: Overview 3-2 Views SST/OB Web client is a natural extension of SST/OB desktop client, providing platform and location independence. With the SST/OB Web Client, you can monitor your Terminal environment (configured through the SST/OB Client) through a web-browser like the Microsoft Internet Explorer. This empowers you with the Anytime-Anywhere access to your Terminal environment. In the next topics in the chapter, we will be covering the basic building blocks of SST/OB. For more details, refer to SST/OB Users Guide. Views are the building blocks for creating Dashboards. A dashboard can contain one or more views. SST/OB Dashboards can contain the following types of views: Policy Views: Policy Views are depicted using the icon. Policy Views are associated with Standard policies. Local Views: Local Views are depicted using the icon Policy View Policy Views are specialized views that are used for customized management of the Terminal environment. Each Policy View has a Standard Policy associated with it. NOTE: Policies are specialized conditions that can be used to monitor your Terminal environment. Pre-Defined Policy Views BASE24 Network Policy: This policy determines which Terminals are out of service due to BASE24 failures network wide Cashout Problem: This policy determines whether the Terminal has cashout faults in one or more hoppers. Communication Problems: This policy determines which Terminals are offline. Hardware Problems: This policy determines which Terminals have hardware faults. In Maintenance (in Supervisor mode): This policy determines which Terminals are under supervisor mode. Out of Service: This policy shows Terminals with faults that put the Terminal in an Out of Service state. Printer/Paper/Other Supply Problems: This policy determines which Terminals have problems like printer paper out, ink out or ribbon etc. i.e. non-cash supply problems. Terminals Down by Device Handler: This policy determines which Terminals are down due to a device handler process down. Terminals Down By Line Process: This policy determines which Terminals are down due to a Line process down. Terminals Down by Resource Node: This policy determines which Terminals are down due to a resource node process down. SST/OB Web Client: Concepts 12

13 3-2-2 Local View Local Views display information that is used for general monitoring of the terminal environment. Unlike the Policy Views, you cannot specify actions for a Local View. Pre-Defined Local Views BASE24 Network Chart: Graphical representation of counts of Terminals down due to BASE24 failures. BASE24 Network Statistics: Statistics of Terminals for BASE24 faults. Network-wide View: Network-wide view of Terminals In Service, Out of Service and Blacklisted (Out of Monitoring). No Transaction for more than 12 hours: Shows Terminals that did not have any transaction for more than 12 hours. This view excludes blacklisted Terminals. No Transaction for more than 24 hours: Shows Terminals that did not have any transaction for more than 24 hours. This view excludes blacklisted Terminals. Statistics by Cities: Shows statistics on Terminals with problems with respect to cities. Statistics by Device Handlers: Shows statistics on Terminals with problems with respect to XPNET Device Handler Processes. Statistics by Line Process: Shows statistics on Terminals with problems with respect to Line Processes. Statistics by Logical Networks: Shows statistics of Terminals with problems with respect to logical networks. Statistics by Nodes: Shows statistics on Terminals with problems with respect to host nodes. Statistics by Regions: Shows statistics on Terminals with problems with respect to regions. Statistics by Resource Nodes: Shows statistics on Terminals with problems with respect to Resource Node Processes. Statistics by States: Shows statistics of Terminals with problems with respect to states. Terminals Count vs. XPNET Entity Down: Shows number of Terminals affected when a XPNET entity (like Device Handler, Line Handler, Resource node process) is down. Terminals Out of Service Region Wise: Shows Terminals Out of Service with respect to region. Terminals Out of Service count/region: Shows count of Terminals Out of service with respect to region. 14 3-3 Dashboards Overview SST/OB Web Client Dashboards provide you business intelligence across all areas of your Terminal environment. SST/OB Web Client comes with a range of pre-defined dashboards. Each dashboard can contain one or more views, which are governed by policies. Each Policy View in a dashboard contains Terminals under the criteria set by the corresponding Policy. A Dashboard can also contain one or more Local Views. 16 4 SST/OB Web Client Application 4-1 SST/OB Web Client Interface When you login to the SST/OB Web Client: Dashboards page is displayed by default. Figure 4-1 SST/OB Web Client Interface The Navigation area on the left side of the page provides access to the various functionalities of the SST/OB Web Client. The options available are: Dashboards: The Dashboards option provides snap-shots on your Terminal environment. Search: The Search option displays information based on the specified search criteria. Event Log: The Event Log displays information with respect to the events. Browsers: The Browser tab displays information related to various faults and events on the terminals in the specified time frame. Reports: The Reports tab displays the SST Reports about the terminal availability, faults and the cash management. Clicking on the options displayed in the Navigation area displays the corresponding information in the Details area on the top right side of the page. Clicking on the options available in the Details area enables you to drilldown further for detailed information. SST/OB Web Client Application 16

17 4-2 Dashboards Overview You can view all the pre-defined Dashboards along with the user-defined Dashboards created using the SST/OB Client through the SST/OB Web Client. Select the Dashboard and the corresponding View from the Navigation area to display the details in the Details area. 18 4-2-2 Dashboard Views Each dashboard can contain one or more views. Each Policy View in a dashboard contains Terminals under the criteria set by the corresponding Policy. A Terminal can be displayed in multiple Policy Views, in case they fulfill conditions in multiple Policies. Click on a Dashboard View from the Dashboards Navigation area to view the details on the View in the Details area. 19 4-3 Taking Actions on Problems The Terminals displayed in a Policy View can have the following status: Acknowledged Unacknowledged Closed Acknowledging a Problem Acknowledging a current problem on a Terminal displayed in a Policy View will prevent new alert notifications from being generated until the problem is unacknowledged or the underlying problem is closed. Follow the steps listed below to acknowledge a problem. 1. Right-click on a Terminal in a Dashboard View Details area and select the Action Acknowledge Problems option. Figure 4-4 Acknowledge Problems Option 2. The Acknowledge Problems dialog box is displayed. In the Reason/Description box, specify the reason for acknowledging the problem on the selected Terminal. 20 3. Click on the OK button to continue Once a Terminal in a view is acknowledged, the acknowledged Terminals are displayed with the Acknowledged flag. Figure 4-6 Acknowledge Problems Option - Result Once a problem has been acknowledged, you can perform the following actions on it depending on the status of the problem. Unacknowledged the Problem Close the Problem SST/OB Web Client Application 20

21 4-3-2 Unacknowledging a Problem Follow the steps listed below to remove the existing acknowledgment for a Terminal. 4. Right-click on a Terminal in a Dashboard View Details area and select the Action Unacknowledge Problems. NOTE: Only the Acknowledged Terminals can be Unacknowledged. 22 4-3-3 Closing a Problem Follow the steps listed below to remove the existing acknowledgment for a Terminal and close the problem: 1. Right-click on a Terminal in a Dashboard View Details area and select Actions Close Problems. 2. Selecting the option displays Close Problems dialog box. In the Reason/Description box, specify the reason for closing the problem on the selected Terminal. Figure 4-9 Close Problems Dialog Box 3. Click on the OK button. The Closed Terminals are displayed with the Closed flag. NOTE: Only the Acknowledged Terminals can be Closed. NOTE: The changed status of an unacknowledged or closed terminal is shown after the refresh operation. SST/OB Web Client Application 22

23 4-4 Terminal Details SST/OB Web Client enables you to view the details of individual Terminals. Click on a Terminal in the Terminal Details area to view the detailed information corresponding to the selected Terminal. The detailed information for the respective Terminal will be displayed at the following tabs: General Events Cash Faults Transactions Action History Custom Information Map Messages Charts The information bar at the bottom of the Terminal Details area provides information on the total Page numbers and the number of Items visible on that page when a tab is selected. 24 The General tab displays information related to the selected Terminal. This information is configured by the admin user from the SST/OB Desktop client. There are various fields already available in the SSTOB database that are available in this tab for viewing. Apart from this more fields can be added by the Admin user manually using the SST/OB desktop client and the Manage Data facility. 25 4-4-2 Events Tab The Events tab displays the events received for the selected Terminal. 26 4-4-4 Faults Tab The Faults tab displays the faults at the selected Terminal. Figure 4-14 Faults Tab The following information is available under the Faults tab: Type Fault Reported At Details Transactions Tab The Transactions tab displays the transactions occuring at the selected Terminal in close to real time. These transactions are pulled in from the ATMTA database. So for information to be displayed in this tab, ATMTA product must be installed and configured. Specify the time interval for which the history is required using the Show history for drop-down list. You can choose from Last one hour, Last 24 Hours and Last 48 Hours. Use the Refresh button to refresh the history details. 28 4-4-7 Custom Information The Custom Information tab provides the custom information about the record selected in a view. It could be processed information about a terminal or some external information pulled into the view to assist operations staff. The Custom information which a user can view is dependent on the privileges and rights provided by the Administrator. For example screenshot below displays transaction data form ATMTA database in the custom information tab. Figure 4-17 Custom Information tab To View the information, select the desired option from the Custom Information dropdown list. NOTE: The Custom information list displays views available to the users that are assigned by the admin via permissions Map Tab Depending on the selection of key values available in the web Config file the Map tab will display the location of the terminal using Google maps and MS VE.. Only a single terminal location or the location of all the terminals in a terminal set can be viewed using the Map drop-down list. Figure 4-18 Map Tab To view the Terminal s location, you need to assign the Latitude and Longitude values of the terminals in the SST/OB GUI. 30 4-5 Search The Search feature in SST/OB Web Client allows you to find terminals or group of terminals by specifying search criteria. To access Search option, click on the Search tab in the Navigation area. Figure 4-21 Search Option Use the Locate by and Look for fields in the Search Navigation area to search the Terminal based on the criteria specified. You can search for Terminals on the basis of the following criteria using the Locate by field: Name: Refers to the name of the Terminal. City: Refers to the City where the terminal is located. Region: Refers to the region where terminal is located. Fault: Refers to a particular fault. Fault Categories: Refers to selected fault category. You must provide values in the Look for field corresponding to the option selected in the located by list. For example if you select fault option from the Locate by list then fault name should be entered in the Look for field. The Search details are displayed in the Details area. 31 4-6 Event Log An event is any significant occurrence in the system or in a program that requires users to be notified, or an entry added to a log. With the Event Log feature, you can obtain information about your hardware, software, and system components, and monitor security events. Event logs can help you identify and diagnose the source of current system problems, or also helps you to predict potential system problems. To access the Event Log feature, click on the Event Log tab in the Navigation area. Figure 4-22 Event Log Details Window Clicking on the Event Log tab displays the Open Event Log link which provides access to the Event Log details. The Event Log Details area provides the information from the Event log under the following headers. 32 4-7 Browsers SST Operations Bridge Web Client provides a feature of browsing faults and events on the terminals in the specified time frame. The Browser tab has two options - Events Browser Faults Browser Events Browser Events Browser feature enables you to display the events occurred in the business environment using various filter conditions. To access Events Browser, click on the Open Events Browser option. This displays the Parameters for: Events Browser tab page. Figure 4-23 Open Events Browser Window For viewing the events, following filters fields are available: Subject: Filter the events based on the subject column using the Subject check box. Select the check box and specify the subject text in the available text box. The Subject field will search for the text as per the LIKE operator used in SQL. SSID: Enable the SSID field using the corresponding check box and specify the value in the SSID field. The SSID field will search as per the LIKE operator used in SQL. Event Number: Enable the Event Number field using the corresponding check box and specify the value in the text box. The Event Number field will search as per the IN operator used in SQL. Event Text: Enable the Event Text field using the corresponding check box and specify the value in the field. The Event field will search the content as per the LIKE operator used in SQL. Event Time: Select the time interval for which the events are to be displayed using the Event Time drop-down box. The options available are: Last 30 minutes Last 1 hour Last 24 hours Last 2 Days Last <N> minutes Last <N> hours Last <N> days Specify Date Range Number of Records: Specify the number of records you want to be displayed. 33 Click on the Show button to display the events generated as per the specified criteria. To access Faults Browser, click on the Open Faults Browser tab. By default the Parameters for: Faults Browser tab page is displayed. 34 For viewing the Faults, following filters feilds are available: Terminals: Select the Terminals check box to apply the fault conditions on the specific Terminals or Terminal Sets. Selecting From a Terminal Set drop-down box will automatically display the list of existing Terminal Sets. All Terminals are selected by default. Fault ID: Select the Fault ID check box to display faults with a specific fault ID. Specify the Fault ID from the existing drop-down list. Fault Time: Select the time interval for which the faults are to be displayed using the Fault Time drop-down box. The options available are: Last 1 hour Last 24 Hours Last 2 Days Last <N> Days Specify Date Range Number of Records: Specify the number of records you want to display using the corresponding field. 35 4-7-3 Customizing Data using Filters SST/OB web client provides you with a feature to apply multiple conditions to customize your faults and events data as per the requirements. 37 5 SST Reports: Overview SST/OB provides a remarkable add-on feature of Reports in SST/OB Web server.this feature facilitates you to generate and view pre-canned reports. For generating reports you need to select duration for which reports are required and pass various other parameters available. Reports gives you a quick and comparative data analysis, hence allowing you to clearly analyse and see what is happening with your business, in the monitoring of normal operations along with detection and management of problem situations before they can impact your business. To access Reports option, click on the Reports tab in the Navigation area of SST/OB Web Client. NOTE: For the link to access the Reports, refer to SST/OB Web Config Parameters in Appendix-A. NOTE: If the parameter or its corresponding value is not provided in the web.config file, the reports tab will not be available. SST Reports: Overview 5-1 Features & Benefits Flexible Web-Based Monitoring Being a web-based product, SST Reports enhances the flexibility of viewing and generating reports by providing platform and location independence to the user. 38 5-2 SST Reports interface To view SST Reports, click on the Show Reports link available under Reports tab. This displays a tree control on the right side which lists all the SST reports available. SST/OB provides you the reports under the following groups: Availability Cash Faults General Transaction NOTE: Both Cash and Transaction report groups require ATMTA product to be installed and configured with SST/OB. NOTE: To view reports please ensure that the following settings are configured in the internet explorer: HP SST Reports URL must be added under Trusted sites list of Internet options. 39 5-3 Upload SST Reports The SST Report definition is stored in a report definition file, These files are provided separately from the SST Reports installation package. These report definitions are uploaded on the SST Reports web server using the upload facility. Follow the steps given below to upload the reports: 1. Click on the Upload Report link available on the top right corner of the Reports window. 41 NOTE: If the report is already uploaded, the interface will display a message to Update the existing report or to Cancel the Uploading process. 42 5-4 View Reports Introduction SST Operations Bridge provides reports that allow you to evaluate your terminal environment status and performance, hence keeping the entire terminal network running at a maximum efficiency. The user can also view the reports as per their needs. For example, a user can view the detailed availability status of all the terminals by generating the report for the specified time interval Reports Generation Follow the steps given below to generate the reports: 1. Click on the Show Reports link available under the Reports tab of SST/OB Web Client. This displays the Reports area on the right side of the window. 2. The Reports area enables you to select the report to be viewed. Click on the selected report. 3. This displays the list of parameters required to view the report. Figure 5-6 SST Operations Bridge Web Client Parameters For Reports Window Specify the following parameters: From/To: Specify the date interval for which the reports are to be generated using the corresponding dropdown fields. Make sure that both the fields do not have the same values. For example, if you want to see the data of 1 st July 2009 then select From/To as 1 st July nd July 09 then the data fetched from the database would be from 00:00:00 till 23:59:59. Of 1st july 09 Select Terminals: Specify the list of terminals for which the report is to be generated. The options available are From a Terminal Set (to select a Terminal set from the available terminal sets) and Specific Terminal (to select an individual terminal). No of Records: Specify the number of records to be displayed. 4. Click on the Generate Report button. It could take time ranging from few seconds to few minutes for generating report depending on the amount of data and duration requested. Once the report is generated the Parameters panel gets folded to provide maximum space to the rendered report. SST Reports: Overview 42

Clicking on this button displays the Print dialog box. Enables you to print the current page of the report. Clicking on this button also displays the Print dialog box. Enables you to view the First and the Last page of the report. Enables you to view the Previous and the Next page of the report. Enables you to select the particular page number from the total number of pages displayed for a report. Enables you to export a report and save it to the hard disk. Clicking on this button will display the File Download dialog box. Enables you to export a report and show it in the new window. Enables you to view the report in the particular format.
