1 Overview Diagram Contracts & Amendments Overview Q: What is 1WorldSync s Digital Asset Management? A: 1WorldSync s Digital Asset Management provides data sources with the ability to upload, manage, store and distribute the digital assets associated with the items managed on 1Worldsync s platforms. Digital assets can include images, videos, audio file, and PDF files (to support warranties, safety data sheets, product spec sheets). Through 1WorldSync Digital Asset Management, data sources can upload assets and tag them with the appropriate metadata. 1WorldSync will then host the asset by assigning a URL. This information is distributed as part of the item information through the GDSN or to Non-GDSN recipients using ContentNOW. Recipients may use the digital asset links transmitted via the GDSN or through ContentNOW to retrieve the images in the correct size to meet their needs. Q: Who should use the Digital Asset Management capability? A: Any data source that would like their digital assets hosted (by 1WorldSync) at a URI and any data recipient that wants to receive digital assets through the GDSN. Q: When will Digital Asset Management be made available? A: This capability is now available through Item Management (IM) and WSPublish. The current offering allows data sources to login to the User Interface (UI) to upload assets. If you are a 1WorldSync customer, please contact your Account Manage or Customer Support at with US or within Europe or Asia. 2 Q: How is the Digital Asset Management capability different than the existing GDSN capability to communicate images? A: GDSN allows for the communication of URLs (representing digital assets) and related attributes. While 1WorldSync supports this capability, it requires the data source to host their own assets and provide their own URLs. 1WorldSync s Digital Asset Management will host digital assets (data source uploads the assets to 1WorldSync) for the data source. Suppliers have the option to continue with hosting their own assets or use 1WorldSync s hosting (or a combination of both). Data recipients will receive the information, regardless of which option the data source uses. Images at any 1WorldSync-hosted URI can be dynamically resized by the data recipient. Q: What are the key features and benefits to using 1WorldSync s Digital Asset Management? A: 1WorldSync s digital asset management capability provides Suppliers with: The ability to upload any digital asset and host the assets in the 1WorldSync Product Information Cloud The ability to allow a recipient to receive via the GDSN or a real-time API (ContentNOW) The ability to allow a recipient to receive the size and image quality they desire (support multiple recipient requirements with one upload) Consistent performance of digital asset retrieval on a global scale Digital Asset Management Digital Asset Management

3 Q: How does Digital Asset Management specifically help recipients? A: 1WorldSync s digital asset management capability allows Recipients to: Receive trusted image and digital asset links via the GDSN CIN Receive trusted image and digital asset links via ContentNOW Resize images to meet any criteria Q: How are digital assets uploaded? A: Digital assets are uploaded via IM and WSPublish User Interface. Q: Can a supplier upload with a Machine-to-Machine solution? A: The data source must use the IM or WSPublish User Interface (UI) to upload to Digital Asset Management. If the supplier does not want to use this option, the other options are: contact 1WorldSync s professional services team to assist in the upload process Utilize 1WorldSync s API and XML options, available starting in December Q: Can Legacy SA2 users share product images? Is there any plan to integrate SA2 and Item Management users? Will all users eventually work on the same system? A: If you are a Legacy SA2 user that uses WSPublish, then you can upload digital assets. However if you are a WS1 or WS2 (Sinfos or Agentrics), the capability is not available. 1WorldSync is working now on a plan to integrate the environments and will have much more clarity and information at the 2015 GS1Connect. Q: What digital asset formats can be uploaded? A: 1WorldSync will store all digital assets in 1WorldSync s Product Information Cloud. As soon as a digital asset is uploaded to the platform (regardless of whether it s published or not), the digital asset will be stored in a cloud service. Q: Does a recipient need to authenticate to retrieve the digital asset from 1WorldSync s Product Information Cloud? A: There is no authentication required to access the digital asset. Q: Can digital assets be retrieved by accounts such as Amazon.com and Retailers such as Office Depot? A: The supplier can sync the digital asset URL to the recipient and the recipient can then access and use the digital assets. This does not require a signed agreement unless the supplier images are hosted by 1WorldSync, if so, then the Retailer/etailer will be required to sign the ContentNOW agreement. 5 Q: What are the recommended formats to upload? A: Suppliers can upload different types of assets including images (see page 3 for formats). It s recommended that high quality images get uploaded (jpg, png, etc.) for easier rendering. Q: Is there a specific storage limit? A: No, there is currently no specific storage limit. A storage limit may be introduced in the future. Diagram Contracts & Amendments US Suppliers Q: I am already an IM supplier; can I automatically use the Digital Asset Management tool? A: No. Existing suppliers who would like to use either Digital Asset Management or ContentNOW must first sign an amendment to their existing contract. Signing an amendment will ensure that the supplier is aware that they will be sharing some of their images and data outside the GDSN. 6 access to one of these two services, you are covered for both and do not need to sign an additional amendment. Q: Is there a fee for suppliers to use Digital Asset Management? A: No, there is no fee. However, suppliers who exceed 100 GB of storage maybe charged an additional fee. 1WorldSync will gage usage to better define the fee. Q: What is the difference between ContentNOW and Digital Asset Management? The Digital Asset Management contract states ContentNOW. A: The agreement states ContentNOW which is 1WorldSync s branded capability for both uploading digital assets if you choose, utilizing 1WorldSync s web services. GMBH Suppliers Q: How will existing WSPublish suppliers receive access? A: No. Existing WS 3 suppliers who would like to use either Digital Asset Management or ContentNOW must first sign an amendment to their existing contract. Signing an amendment will ensure that the supplier is aware that they will be sharing some of their images and data outside the GDSN.
