6 Preface The test system TS8997 covers the regulatory test of wireless devices in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz band according to the new standards ETSI EN v1.8.1 and ETSI EN v It is controlled by EMC32, the Rohde & Schwarz System Software for EMC measurements on 32 and 64-bit operating systems from Microsoft (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7). It provides a common user interface for Emission Measurements (EMI), Susceptibility Measurements (EMS) and an Application Interface Macro language for general purpose which is designed to operate like a virtual instrument. It combines the convenience of an intuitive graphical user interface according to the actual Windows standards with the maximum flexibility both for support of measurement devices and for running EMC measurements. This manual should guide and support the user during his first experience with EMC32 software. Therefore the manual provides step by step procedures from software installation and configuration to the first EMC measurement using figures and examples. A detailed description of the installation procedure is provided in the manual "Installation Guide" which is available in printed form and in electronic form on the CD. E

You will find the necessary instructions for installation, update, the configuration of the software, the start of the program and tips on installation troubleshooting. 26 5 Calibration of DUT Cable Calibration of the DUT cable (e.g. for the tests Calibration Cable DUT TS GHz and Calibration Cable DUT TS GHz ) can be done in the same way as defined in step1 and Step2.
