Researched best practices for selecting peer institutions on behalf of the Vice Provost. Applied knowledge to revise the University s 2006 Oregon University System (OUS) Board approved peers used in the System budget allocation model. Analyzed data to assist the University in achieving membership in the Association of American Universities (AAU) on behalf of the President. Generated a report highlighting specific areas for the concentration of fiscal and human resources in order to obtain membership. Applied activity-based costing model to determine the cost of educating students in a high and low cost program. Developed spreadsheet application to conduct what-if scenarios of new OUS budget model, as a member of the Resource Allocation Model (RAM) Team for Finance & Administration. Managed development of IRIIS. Applied interface design principles to design an intuitive interface. Conducted usability tests. Supervised employees in accomplishing project-related tasks. Designed Web survey to collect user feedback. Designed prototype for Internet system to inform and encourage involvement among OSU community regarding Oregon State's mission, core themes, and objectives related to the 2011 Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU) accreditation standards. Presented design to stakeholders, including Deans, Accreditation Committee Chair, Vice-Provost, and President. Designed and developed application to improve accuracy of processing large legislative datasets essential to Government Relations Office for outreach efforts. Built an application, using Office s collection of licensed software (Microsoft Suite, Visual Basic, and Adobe Acrobat), to automate standard office publications, including monthly Employee Report, quarterly Enrollment Summary, and yearly Graduation Summary. Implemented the application resulting in the elimination of $12,000 in contractor fees, and 90 to 95% decrease in time required by staff to review and edit publications, as well as accuracy and formatting improvements. Contributed to development of Diversity Action Plan, which was approved by Director of Community & Diversity and the Vice Provost for Academic Affairs & International Programs, by recommending human resource policy changes, an assessment component to measure progress, and assignment of action items to major stakeholders to ensure accountability. Represented Oregon State s interests on the University System Inter-Institutional Planning & Research Council by participating in decisions impacting various aspects of System surveys including data collection, survey design, reporting specifications, and response rate strategies. Finance and Administration, Management Information Systems Unit Programmer/Systems Analyst Redesigned application used to redistribute funds for hundreds of graduate fee remissions. Programmed new application to achieve Year 2000 compliance and to continue saving time required for data entry. Facilitated business processes through the development, implementation, and maintenance of computer systems. Wrote user manuals and trained employees on the operation of developed applications.
