8 Vibration Health Monitoring CRD Should complex helicopters not involved in offshore operations be equipped with VHM system as recommended by ICAO? No. The CRD proposes to terminate the RMT.

9 Sterile flight deck procedures CRD To increase safety during critical phases of flight. NOTE: For helicopters taxy is defined as a critical phase of flight.

10 Flight recorders and underwater locating devices. CRD Helicopters shall not use flight recorders with magnetic tape or magnetic wire after 1 January Helicopters with crash-protected flight recorders shall use underwater locating devices with 90 days transmission time after 1 January 2020.

11 Helicopter Offshore Operations CRD Some Member States did not consider Part-CAT to reflect necessary level of safety to offshore operations as did JAR- OPS 3 and national regulations. Regulations are proposed to ensure a level playing field whilst maintaining safety. Introduced in new subpart of Part-SPA to Regulation 965/2012 as a specific approval for all helicopter offshore operations.

12 Portable electronic devices CRD To enable the use of PEDs during various phases of flight. The proposes that: The operator shall demonstrate that PEDs do not interfere with on-board electronic systems and equipment. The operator shall decide which PED may be used during which phases of the flight.

13 CRM training CRD Objective: To establish and maintain a high uniform level of safety in air operations. The proposes to amend and expand AMC and GM by including new items in the present framework on CRM training.

14 H-V limitation CRD The H-V envelope is a limitation for; PC2 operations with complex helicopters. Category B operations with complex, multi-engined helicopters with more than 9 passenger seats. The proposes amendments to Regulation 965/2012 and CS-29 (Large Rotorcraft ) to allow penetration of the H-V envelope.

15 Ditching occupant survivability CRD Objective: To enhancing post ditching and water impact standards that could significantly enhance occupant escape and survivability.

16 In-flight recording for light aircraft CRD Objective: To identify light aircraft for which in-flight recording should be required; To define in-flight recording requirements for these aircraft; To define requirements for the use, preservation and serviceability of the new in-flight recording solutions.

17 HEMS flight and duty time limitations and rest requirements CRD Objective: Develop flight and duty time limitations and rest requirements (FTL) for CAT HEMS operations, taking into account operational experience and recent scientific evidence.

18 HEMS performances, public interest sites and HEMS flights at night CRD Objective: Revision of the Air Ops regulations related to: HEMS performance requirements in general. Operations to and from public interest sites (PIS). HEMS night requirements.

20 EASA cannot provide legally binding interpretations of an EU law. This is reserved to national and EU courts and to the European Commission. Under the EU Treaties, Member States are responsible for interpretation and implementation of EU law in their national legal system. For that reason, questions regarding interpretation should be forwarded to the competent authorities designated by the Member States.
