1 Ticomix proudly presents the December 2013 Breaking Away Update Summary of Update Enhancements Knowledge Base Breaking Away Updates: To view which updates have been installed, go to the GO TO menu in GoldMine, select Breaking Away book, and then double-click on the Updates folder. You will then see a list of which updates have been installed. Further, each item in that list is actually a link to the documentation for the respective update. Please note that the update documentation contained in the Knowledge Base has been modified to only include the summary of update enhancements. Systems Manual Docs: The Breaking Away Update will no longer include modifications made to the PEAK Systems Manual. Please contact Ticomix technical support for assistance in updating documents from this source. Breaking Away: The Breaking Away section has been updated. FrontRange: The FrontRange section has been updated to provide documentation specific to GoldMine Premium edition from FrontRange Solutions. GoldMine Administration Guide GoldMine Compatibility Matrix GoldMine Installation Guide GoldMine Users Guide Training Vignettes: To view Breaking Away Training Vignettes, go to the GO TO menu in GoldMine, select Training Vignettes book, and then click on the page you would like to review. To open the file, either click Watch to view in Windows Media Player or choose Read to open this document as a.pdf. The Breaking Away Vignette scripts have been updated in the Knowledge Base. You can now click on the topic of the vignette from the list and then choose to read or view the vignette directly from the Knowledge Base. Breaking Away Reference Manual (revision date is 12/15/13): The Breaking Away Reference Manual has been updated and may be accessed from the Knowledge Base in.pdf format. Go to the GO TO menu in GoldMine, select Breaking Away book, and then click on the Breaking Away Reference Manual page. To open the file, either click the "Launch Attached File" button or right-click on the filename and choose LAUNCH to open this document in Adobe Reader. Please note the following updates to the manual: Section I-B Field Definitions This section has been updated to provide additional phone field definitions when using SMS/Text Messaging. This section has also been updated to provide information on the new SocialNet tab and its fields.

3 Section II-D Correspondence This section has been updated to include the section titled Sending SMS/Texting Messages. This provides instructions on how to send SMS/Text messages to contacts and create a History record of the action. Section I-G Dashboard Definitions This section has been updated to include instructions on how to filter records, such as Client Status = Client. New Dashboard definitions have been added for the GMSA Process Monitor Logs, SQL Server Job History, and Data Status Dashboards. Section III-A Frequently Asked Questions This section has been removed from the manual. All Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) can be viewed from the Breaking Away website. A link is provided in the Knowledge Base for easy access. Section II H Marketing This section has been added to describe how to use the SocialNet tab and view the GM+View templates for the contact s profile name as well as the Constant Contact integration. Reports The following enhancements have been made to reports in the Reports Center: Crystal Reports: o The Birthday Report, Clients with RMD Required by Year s End Report, Clients of a Certain Age, and the History Report has been updated to include corrections made from reported issues. Please Note: You should clone Breaking Away reports before customizing them for your firm. This prevents Breaking Away updates from potentially overwriting your existing customizations. Templates Document Templates: The Breaking Away Update will no longer include modifications made to the PEAK document templates. Please contact Ticomix technical support for assistance in updating templates from this source. Dashboards

4 The following dashboards have been added to the Dashboards section. You can view full descriptions in the Breaking Away Reference Manual Section I-G: Please Note: Screen resolution may affect the display of scroll bars. If you are unable to view scroll bars, please use your keyboard arrow keys to navigate through the lists. You may also resize the column headers or close the Navigation Pane AP Process Monitor Logs Dashboard This Dashboard will display the system logs when you are running automated processes. This can be used with Server Agents as well. SQL Server Job History Dashboard This Dashboard will display the Job History logs for SQL Server when you are running process directly from the server and not in GoldMine. (e.g., GoldMine Maintenance) Data Status Dashboard This Dashboard will display items of note in regards to the data stored in GoldMine. They include duplicate contacts, incorrect or duplicate addresses, double spaces in contact names, etc. Contact Details Summary Dashboard The Gift/RAK tab was updated to include the date the gift was given in the result list. The Dependent tab was updated to include the current age of the dependent if a date of birth is present. Prospects with History and Pending Dashboard This dashboard will display a list of prospects with tracking fields. When a record is selected, the associated History and Pending records will display. Please Note: You should clone Breaking Away Dashboards before customizing them for your firm. This prevents Breaking Away updates from potentially overwriting your existing customizations. SMS/Text Messaging We have documented and provided instructions for using the GoldMine SMS/Text Messaging service for your contact records. You may now send text messages to contacts and create an accompanying History record. More information can be found in the Breaking Away Reference Manual sections I-D Field Definitions and II-D Correspondence. Social Networking We have added GM+View templates to view contact Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and blog websites. By entering the contact s profile name on the SocialNet tab, the templates in the GM+View tab will open to the correct social networking site and profile page. More information can be found in the Breaking Away Reference Manual sections I-D Field Definitions and II-H Social Networking.

5 Constant Contact Integration with GoldMine PE 2013 GoldMine now includes integration with the popular Marketing service Constant Contact. Please see the Marketing Tools chapter in the GMPE Online Help or Section II-I Constant Contact Integration of the Breaking Away Reference Manual. Automating Reports Ticomix has found an add on application called Logicity that can be installed on the server and then be configured to automatically run and save/ Crystal Reports. We have included the installation files with this Breaking Away Update. IT IS NOT INSTALLED ON YOUR SERVER! If you would like to discuss automating your reporting needs, please contact Ticomix support and we will be happy to configure Logicity for you. Please note that this is an out-of-scope application and is not covered in your Breaking Away Agreement. Installation and configuration will be billed separately at $300. Any requested report customizations will be billed at the regular rate of $130/hr. SQL Server Automation With the power of SQL Server, many offices are beginning to run processes outside of Goldmine and directly from the SQL Server. We have included the basic SQL files needed to configure most processes in this Breaking Away Update. IT IS NOT INSTALLED ON YOUR SERVER! If you would like to discuss additional automating needs, please contact Ticomix support and we will be happy to discuss your SQL Server Configuration. Please note that this is an out-of-scope service and is not covered in your Breaking Away Agreement. Installation and configuration will be billed at the regular billable rate. SQL Server Contacts View Added This Breaking Away Update has added a View to your GoldMine database. It is titled Contacts and combines the Contact1 and Contact2 tables together as well as the primary address. It will provide for quicker SQL queries, Dashboard design, and SQL Server automation in future development and when customizing.
