9 Conclusions The Data Center is recognized as a strategic asset for organizations, and it will continue to grow in importance Because it is of such importance, securing the data center is a primary driver of investment, and because of the complexity, and the wider ranging aspects of the data center, securing it is also the top challenge Vendors ability to meet security requirements the most critical factor Consolidation is a big priority, especially at enterprise organizations, and they still have a long way to go in these efforts Infrastructure software will see the most widespread increase in investment Support and service and the ability to meet security requirements are the most valued attributes in evaluating a data center vendor There is no industry leader which presents a great opportunity for Data Center vendors Source: Data Center Strategies Survey, IDG Enterprise, June
