3 5 th Sunday of Lent As final exam week would approach, many students who were not very attentive during the term would say that it was too late to do much to prepare about the exams. They gave up on their work and fulfilled their own prophecy they could not pass the course. Others would get busy, make the best of the time they had, review and study and catch up on notes and reading assignments. Although they may not have accomplished the best grades possible, they often helped themselves and did much better. At least they managed to pass the class. This is the last week of Lent before Holy Week. And if you have not done as well as you had hoped, there is still time. Get your family and head to morning Mass this week, or spend a day fasting, or make it a point to go to confession or finally get around to showing up for Stations of the Cross or an adult education series. Don t just give up; use this week to accomplish something, anything that allows you to practice a little better what you believe. Or you could give up and just say you ll get to it next year. Perhaps you ve done that in the past. But it really is not too late. Today might be the first day of your own spiritual renewal, the beginning of something good and something you ve wanted to do for a while. Don t delay. 6 5 to Domingo de Cuaresma Reflexión Marzo 22, 2015 Educación Religiosa Sábado 21 de Marzo CCD Clases Sábado 28 de Marzo Misa / CCD Clases Confesiones 10:00AM Salón Social Marzo 29 Abril 4 : Semana Santa Sábado 4 de Abril Misa / CCD Clases Estamos casi al final de la vida pública de Jesús y el evangelio, hoy, nos presenta a unos peregrinos que vienen a celebrar la Pascua, y le hacen una petición a Felipe: «Queremos ver a Jesús». Podemos aplicarnos a nosotros esta petición, nos acercamos a la Iglesia pidiendo ver a Jesús. Y ellos, al igual que nosotros, no lo hacen por curiosidad sino por que han descubierto en Él algo importante, algo que nos ayuda a vivir nuestra vida de forma totalmente diferente a como lo hacemos. Jesús será crucificado en pocos días y como hombre debe sentir preocupación, por ello contesta con unas palabras que quizás nos desconcierten, igual que desconcertó a aquellos hombres: «Llega la hora de que sea glorificado el Hijo del Hombre». Sabe que ha llegado su hora, que morirá, pero también tiene la certeza que todos veremos su glorificación en la Resurrección. Ellos no lo entenderían, pero y nosotros, lo entendemos? Cada año rememoramos en Semana Santa todo aquel acontecimiento, aquel dolor, también su Resurrección, pero lo creemos o sólo lo vivimos como unas vacaciones, como un conjunto artístico en la calle pero sin más repercusión?. Si leemos con detenimiento el evangelio, si nos paramos en cada palabra, en cada gesto, en cada signo, que hace Jesús estamos descubriendo el amor más sublime, el más altruista: Dios a través de su Hijo, nos lo hace saber. Dios es Amor. Con la metáfora del grano de trigo del evangelio de hoy, nos está diciendo Jesús que cuando el grano muere, crece, brota de nuevo la vida, pero si el grano se queda en su envoltura no dará vida. Jesús lo repite en varias ocasiones, si nos agarramos a nuestra vida, a nuestras ideas, de forma egoísta, ésta no tendrá sentido, pero si sabemos compartirla con amor y generosidad si lo tendrá. Vivimos en estos momentos una crisis, no sólo de dinero, sino también de valores, pero caigamos en la cuenta que también hay muchas personas que tienen una actitud abierta, generosa, que comparten su vida, que intentan cada día hacer la vida de los demás más justa y humana, personas e instituciones que extienden sus manos para acoger al más deprimido, al más marginado. Esa manera de vivir es seguir a Jesús y entender que, a través de la fe, Dios nos ama. Vivan felices y sigan a Jesús, el Amor más grande. Three times Jesus had predicted his suffering and death before consciously and voluntarily (Lk 9:51) going to the place of his Passion and his resurrection.. [ , ] [He said to them,] The Son of man will be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him; and when he is killed, after three days he will rise." (Mk 9:31b) 95 Why did Jesus choose the date of the Jewish feast of Passover for his death and Resurrection? Jesus chose the Passover feast of his people Israel as a symbol for what was to happen through his death and Resurrection. As the people Israel were freed from slavery to Egypt, so Christ frees us from the slavery of sin and the power of death. [ ] The Passover was the feast celebrating the liberation of Israel from slavery in Egypt. Jesus went to Jerusalem in order to free us in an even deeper way. He celebrated the Paschal feast with his disciples. During this feast, he made himself the sacrificial Lamb. For Christ, our Paschal Lamb, has been sacrificed" (1 Cor 5:7), so as to establish once and for all the definitive reconciliation between God and mankind. 97 Are the Jews guilty of Jesus death? No one can assign collective guilt for the death of Jesus to the Jews. Instead, the Church professes with certainty that all sinners share in the guilt for Jesus' death. Philip went and told Andrew; then Andrew and Philip went and told Jesus. Jesus answered them, "The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified. Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls to the ground and dies, it remains just a grain of wheat; but if it dies, it produces much fruit. Whoever loves his life loses it, and whoever hates his life in this world will preserve it for eternal life. Whoever serves me must follow me, and where I am, there also will my servant be. The Father will honor whoever serves me. "I am troubled now. Yet what should I say? 'Father, save me from this hour?' But it was for this purpose that I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name." Này sẽ đến những ngày - sấm ngôn của Đức Chúa - Ta sẽ lập với nhà Ít-ra-en và nhà Giu-đa một giao ước mới, không giống như giao ước Ta đã lập với cha ông chúng, ngày Ta cầm tay dẫn họ ra khỏi đất Ai-cập; chính chúng đã huỷ bỏ giao ước của Ta, mặc dầu Ta là Chúa Tể của chúng - sấm ngôn của Đức Chúa. Nhưng đây là giao ước Ta sẽ lập với nhà Ít-ra-en sau những ngày đó - sấm ngôn của Đức Chúa. Ta sẽ ghi vào lòng dạ chúng, sẽ khắc vào tâm khảm chúng Lề Luật của Ta. Ta sẽ là Thiên Chúa của chúng, còn chúng sẽ là dân của Ta. Chúng sẽ không còn phải dạy bảo nhau, kẻ này nói với người kia: "Hãy học cho biết Đức Chúa ", vì hết thảy chúng, từ người nhỏ đến người lớn, sẽ biết Ta - sấm ngôn của Đức Chúa. Dầu là Con Thiên Chúa, Người đã phải trải qua nhiều đau khổ mới học được thế nào là vâng phục; và khi chính bản thân đã tới mức thập toàn, Người trở nên nguồn ơn cứu độ vĩnh cửu cho tất cả những ai tùng phục Người. Đó là Lời Chúa. Cộng đoàn: Tạ ơn Chúa. TUNG HÔ TIN MỪNG: Chúa nói rằng: Ai phục vụ Thầy, thì hãy theo Thầy; và Thầy ở đâu, kẻ phục vụ Thầy cũng sẽ ở đó. PHÚC ÂM: Ga 12:20-33 Tin Mừng Chúa Giê-su Ki-tô theo thánh Gioan. Vào dịp lễ Vượt Qua năm ấy, trong số những người lên Giê-ru-sa-lem thờ phượng Thiên Chúa, có mấy người Hy-lạp. Họ đến gặp ông Phi-líp-phê, người Bết-xai-đa, miền Ga-li-lê, và xin rằng: "Thưa ông, chúng tôi muốn được gặp ông Giê-su." Ông Phi-líp-phê đi nói với ông An-rê. Ông An-rê cùng với ông Phi-líp-phê đến thưa với Đức Giê-su. Đức Giê-su trả lời: "Đã đến giờ Con Người được tôn vinh! Thật, Thầy bảo thật anh em, nếu hạt lúa gieo vào lòng đất mà không chết đi, thì nó vẫn trơ trọi một mình; còn nếu chết đi, nó mới sinh được nhiều hạt khác. Ai yêu quý mạng sống mình, thì sẽ mất; còn ai coi thường mạng sống mình ở đời này, thì sẽ giữ lại được cho sự sống đời đời. Ai phục vụ Thầy, thì hãy theo Thầy; và Thầy ở đâu, kẻ phục vụ Thầy cũng sẽ ở đó. Ai phục vụ Thầy, Cha của Thầy sẽ quý trọng người ấy. "Bây giờ, tâm hồn Thầy xao xuyến! Thầy biết nói gì đây? Lạy Cha, xin cứu con khỏi giờ này, nhưng chính vì giờ này mà con đã đến. Lạy Cha, xin tôn vinh Danh Cha." Bấy giờ có tiếng từ trời vọng xuống: "Ta đã tôn vinh Danh Ta, Ta sẽ còn tôn vinh nữa!" Dân chúng đứng ở đó nghe vậy liền nói: "Đó là tiếng sấm!" Người khác lại bảo: "Tiếng một thiên thần nói với ông ta đấy!" Đức Giê-su đáp: "Tiếng ấy đã vọng xuống không phải vì tôi, mà vì các người. Giờ đây đang diễn ra cuộc phán xét thế gian này. Giờ đây thủ lãnh thế gian này sắp bị tống ra ngoài! Phần tôi, một khi được giương cao lên khỏi mặt đất, tôi sẽ kéo mọi người lên với tôi." Đức Giê-su nói thế để ám chỉ Người sẽ phải chết cách nào. Đó là Lời Chúa. Cộng đoàn: Lạy Chúa Kitô, ngợi khen Chúa.

Có bao điều tốt đẹp chúng con được hưởng hôm nay là do sự hy sinh quên mình của người đi trước, của các nhà nghiên cứu, các người rao giảng, của ông bà, cha mẹ, thầy cô, của những người đã nằm xuống cho quê hương dân tộc. Ðã có những con người sống như hạt lúa, để từ cái chết của họ vọt lên sự sống cho tha nhân. Nhờ công ơn bao người, chúng con được làm hạt lúa. Xin cho chúng con đừng tự khép mình trong lớp vỏ để cố giữ sự nguyên vẹn vô nghĩa của mình, nhưng dám đi ra để góp cho cánh đồng cuộc đời một cây lúa nhỏ. Chúng con phải chọn lựa nhiều lần trong ngày. Ðể chọn tha nhân và Thiên Chúa, chúng con phải chết cho chính mình.
