4 Teacher accreditation in Bulgaria II. Through the Post-Bachelor s Specialization 1. Fields: Mathematics and Informatics, an year and a half program; Informatics and IT, one-year program; Mathematics one-year program.

5 Teacher accreditation in Bulgaria II. Through a Graduate degree 2. It is open for professionals with a degree in at least one of the following fields: Mathematics. Physics. Chemistry. Engineering. Military engineering. Others...

6 Teacher accreditation in Bulgaria II. Through a Graduate degree 3. Funding of the studies predominantly (close to 100%) via personal funds. Those consist of: tuition fees about three minimum wages (900lv lv. 450 EU); learning materials; travel and accommodation expenses. Note: The expenses of only about 10% of the participants are covered by local Municipalities or Schools.

12 Further Specialization of teachers for work in non-formal and extracurricular activities Organized by: Minu Balkanski Foundation and America for Bulgaria Project goals: To qualify 50 promising and well-motivated teachers in such a way as to be able to organize extracurricular activities in form of lessons and tutorials in Mathematics, Physics and Informatics in all necessary aspects scientific, applied, methodical, organizational and others.

In 2011/2012 academic year in three fields: 20 Mathematics teachers; 15 Physics teachers; 15 informatics teachers. 2. In 2013/2014 academic year in three fields: 20 Mathematics teachers; 15 Physics teachers; 15 informatics teachers.

Schools/teachers: offer teachers; arrange (both organizational and financial wise) the workload of the teacher throughout the school year in extra-curricular forms (study circles, regular workshops and others); cover the travel expenses of the teachers. 4. Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski : runs the specialization process in the form of a one-year graduate program; educational programs; lectors; exams and certification.

16 Further Specialization of teachers for work in non-formal and extracurricular activities The educational process in divided into 5 phases: Phase 1 first five-day course in Mathematics, Physics, or Informatics accordingly. Phase 2 self-preparation and individual work pedagogical work of each teacher for organizing and running seminars, workshops, study groups for preparation for scientific competitions and Olympiads. Phase 3 second five-day course: exams; teaching.

17 Further Specialization of teachers for work in non-formal and extracurricular activities The educational process in divided into 5 phases: Phase 4 self-preparation and individual work pedagogical work of each teacher for organizing and running seminars, workshops, study groups for preparation for scientific competitions and olympiads. Phase 5 third five-day course teaching; exams; defending projects (before commission and the colleagues) methodical works, developed and examined by all the teachers in extracurricular environment during the process of specialization.
