1 Nominations and Election of Officers and Directors The 2014 Election of Officers will include the nomination and election of officers and directors who officially take office December 1 st, 2014 and serve through November 30 th, The Nominating Committee has proposed the following slate of nominees for executive leadership in order to re-establish the chain of succession outlined in Article IV, Section 3 of the AOPA Bylaws. In accordance with Article IV, Section 3 of the Bylaws, the President-Elect automatically succeeds to the office of President and the President automatically succeeds to the office of Immediate Past President. Therefore, Charles H. Dankmeyer Jr., CPO, will be installed as President and Anita Liberman-Lampear, MA, will be installed as Immediate Past President. The Committee has recommended nominees to succeed outgoing Officers and Directors. 2 President Charles H. Dankmeyer Jr., CPO Charles Dankmeyer, AOPA Vice President, and founder of Dankmeyer, Inc, is a practicing certified prosthetist and orthotist who is a graduate of New York University with a major in prosthetics and orthotics. He has served as the president of the American Board for Certification of Orthotists and Prosthetists, the Maryland Orthotic and Prosthetic Association, and the Maryland Rehabilitation Association. He has been a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists, a trustee of CARF, and a commissioner of the National Commission on Orthotic & Prosthetic Education. He is the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company, a longstanding member of the Journal of Rehabilitation Research and Development s Editorial Board, and the Vice Chairman on the Board of Directors for the Injured Worker s Insurance Fund. Dankmeyer Inc. was founded in 1954 to provide prostheses and orthoses to patients in Maryland and nearby communities. The practice developed and has maintained an excellent reputation throughout the community and has relationships with all of the medical teaching institutions in the area as well as most of the private hospitals and insurers. The practice was founded on the principal of being sensitive to the needs of the community and providing services to meet those needs. Dankmeyer, Inc is now the largest provider of orthoses and prostheses in the State of Maryland.
3 Immediate Past President Anita Liberman-Lampear, MA Ms. Liberman-Lampear holds a Bachelors of Science in Medical Technology from Wayne State University and a Master of Arts degree in Allied Health Management from Central Michigan University. After many years in Pathology (in varying capacities in supervision and management) at the University of Michigan Medical Center, Anita became the Medical Center s Assistant Department Administrator in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. In 1992 Anita was asked to manage the University of Michigan Orthotics and Prosthetics Center and revitalize the division as its Administrative Director. Since then, UMOPC has grown and re-established itself as one of the premier academic sites for O&P. Anita consults and teaches in areas of managed care, accreditation, other health-system and O&P-related topics. Anita is a long-time board member and treasurer of the Michigan Orthotics and Prosthetics Association (MOPA) as well as their liaison to Medicaid and a member of the Medical Care Advisory Council (MCAC) to the Director of Medicaid. She is a member of the AOPA Board of Directors and active in the annual O&P PAC Wine Auction Fundraiser.
4 President-Elect James Campbell, PhD, CO, FAAOP Campbell received his prosthetic and orthotic education at Strathclyde University, he attended the National Centre for Prosthetics and Orthotics in Glasgow Scotland from In 1996 he received a Ph.D. from the Bioengineering Unit at Strathclyde, his research was focused in the area of spinal cord injury and paraplegic ambulation. He has spent the majority of his career in the USA, in 1989 he joined the staff at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and for the past 16 years he has worked at Becker Orthopedic in Troy, MI. Campbell is certified by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics, a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and a member of the International Society for Prosthetics & Orthotics. Campbell is a past member of the Board of Directors for the American Academy of Orthotists & Prosthetists (AAOP) and served as Chair of their Educational Development Council, Campbell served as the Editor in Chief for the Journal of Prosthetics and Orthotics from , and is currently a reviewer for several journals including Prosthetics and Orthotics International, JRRD and Transactions on Neural Systems & Rehabilitation Engineering. Campbell joined the Board of Directors of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) in 2012 and is leading the survival imperative initiative relating to Episodes of Care, Practice Standards and Evidence Based Practice. Campbell served as Vice Chair for the 2013 AOPA World Congress Planning Committee. Campbell was a member of the organizing committee for the International Consensus Conference sponsored by ISPO The Orthotic Management of Stroke Patients that occurred in September 2003 and he was an Associate Editor of the conference findings, published in 2004.
5 Vice President Michael Oros, CPO, FAAOP Michael is President of Scheck & Siress. He is an American Board Certified and Illinois Licensed Prosthetist and Orthotist and a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists. He has over 20 years of experience in the field. Michael lectures to the University of Illinois/Chicago orthopedic surgery residents; the physical medicine and rehab residents at Loyola, Rush University Medical Center, and Marianjoy Hospitals; as well as Governor`s State physical therapy students. Michael is a director on the Board for the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association (AOPA) and past chairman of NCOPE (National Commission on Orthotic Prosthetic Education). In addition, he is an adjunct faculty member at Northwestern University s orthotic/prosthetic program and is a former member of the board of directors for the Charleston Bending Brace Research and Education Foundation. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists and its Midwest Chapter. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Iowa, Michael then completed the orthotic and prosthetic program at Northwestern University. Michael has also attended Northwestern s prestigious Kellogg Management Institute.
6 Treasurer Jeff Collins, CPA Jeffrey J. Collins is the President and Chief Financial Officer of Cascade Orthopedic Supply, Inc. and has been a member of the executive team since March Under his leadership, Cascade has grown more than fivefold to become the largest independent distributor serving the prosthetic and orthotic industry in the US. Before joining Cascade, Jeff was a financial analyst for Waste Management, Inc. assisting with centralization of regional finance and operational units and the deployment of PeopleSoft enterprise software. Prior to Waste Management, Jeff provided compliance, business advisory and corporate tax services as a public accountant with both PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a concentration in Accountancy from California State University, Sacramento and is a California certified public accountant. He serves as a director of the American Orthotic and Prosthetic Association, is the president of the California O&P Association and is a past president of the Orthotic and Prosthetic Activities Foundation.
7 Nominees for AOPA Board of Directors, Supplier Director 2 Chris Nolan Chris Nolan has worked in the O&P industry for 15 years and has been the Vice President and General Manager of Endolite for North America. He has held this position since 2007, overseeing a transformative period of the company. During his 15 years in the industry he has worked for some of the largest and best known names in the industry. Nolan started out in sales for Depuy Orthotech, a Johnson and Johnson Company as Rookie of the Year, then went on to serve in various sales and leadership roles for Ossur, Aircast and DJ Orthopedics. Nolan has established a strong track record of organic growth as well as, gaining valuable experience while managing through several mergers and acquisitions. Nolan is a member of the Chas. A. Blatchford Board of Directors and has served on the Board of Directors of the NAAOP. Currently, he is Chairperson for the AOPA National Assembly Meeting. Outside of his career, Nolan also sits on the Board of Directors for Sycamore Creek Country Club, serving as the Treasurer and Chairperson of the Finance Committee. A graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University, Nolan holds degrees in Political Science and History. In his spare time he enjoys golfing, live music, sporting events and spending time with his family. He lives in Springboro, OH with his wife Jenny and three children; Daniel, Amelia and Reagan.
8 Nominees for AOPA Board of Directors, Director, 6-30 Facilities Pam Lupo, CO Pam Filippis Lupo, is a Certified Orthotist through the American Board for Certification and is a Licensed Orthotist in the State of Ohio. Pam is currently the Director of Orthotics and Manager of Women s Care for Wright and Filippis and has been with the company for over 35 years. Pam is responsible for clinical education, staffing, and is the Orthotic Residency Director. Pam received her certificate in Orthotics from Northwestern University in Chicago, IL and is a clinical specialist in Pediatric Orthotics. She is not only committed to Wright & Filippis, but also the future of the Orthotic and Prosthetic industry. Pam is currently on the Michigan Orthotic and Prosthetic Association Board. She has served on the AOPA Coding and Reimbursement Committee for over 10 years; and presented multiple times at both the American Association of Orthotist and Prosthetists (AAOP) and Academy National Assemblies. Pam is currently serving on the Michigan Department of Community Health Medical Care Advisory Council. Pam is an American Board for Certification (ABC) facility accreditation surveyor and has served on the ABC Standards and the Scoring and Guidance Committees. Pam additionally has taught Coding and Compliance at Northwestern University and lectured at Wayne, Oakland, and Eastern Michigan Universities, as well as the University of Michigan. Pam has served on the Foundation for Complex and Orthopedic Spine Board, Eastern Michigan Advisory Board, and is currently a member of the Wright & Filippis Board of Directors. Pam is passionate about her commitment to international orthotic care and her continued mission trips to Ghana, West Africa
9 Nominees for AOPA Board of Directors, Director, 31+ Facilities Jeffrey Lutz, CPO Jeffrey S. Lutz, CPO, is the central zone vice president of Hanger Prosthetics and Orthotics, Inc. He lives with his family in Lafayette, Louisiana. He joined Hanger as a staff prosthetist in 1986 in Orlando, Florida, and subsequently worked as a manager and area manager in Louisiana and Texas. Previously, Lutz worked for Southern Prosthetic Supply (SPS). Lutz holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Georgia Southern University, Statesboro, with postgraduate work in prosthetics and orthotics at the department of orthopedics at Northwestern University Medical School, Chicago, Illinois. He completed an orthotic residency at Children's Hospital, New Orleans, Louisiana, and a prosthetic residency at the Myoelectric Institute of Orlando, Florida.
