Despite the increase in availability of wireless and mobile computing, the printed page continues to be the preferred medium for portability. With the internet being a primary source of information, it is becoming necessary for computer users to be able to get WYSIWYG quality printed material. Unfortunately, most of the time WYSI-NOT-WYG is the more accurate acronym. More often than not, printing information from web pages tends to result in wasted paper, wasted toner/ink, and frustration. You end up with random frames printed on extra pages, cut-off information, having to print out too many pages from multiple web pages, or more information printed than you needed in the first place. An intuitive solution to this problem would be to capture exactly what you want and only what you want from the screen. Samsung AnyWeb Print solves all of your web printing problems with this exact WYSIWYG web printing solution. Overview of AnyWeb Print Samsung AnyWeb Print is a freeware web printing application that gives you full control over your web printing needs. AnyWeb Print not only saves you money by reducing waste (paper and toner), but saves time and energy with its easy to use clickand-drag interface. Leveraging the built-in Internet Explorer feature that allows you to render the instance as an image, AnyWeb Print creates a snapshot of the browser window s current content. After rendering the browser window content, AnyWeb Print creates a new window (over the current browser window) displaying the browser content. This essentially freezes the content and allows you to make a selection from the window. Once you have created your selection (left-clicking and dragging a selection window), AnyWeb Print records the coordinates of the selection window in relation to the HTML document s layout. AnyWeb Print then enumerates the HTML document s elements that fall within the selection s coordinates. With the list of elements, it is then possible to call a special Internet Explorer interface to render the elements in EMF (Enhanced Metafile) format. Finally, the EMF fragment can be displayed on the scrap board user interface with the EMF fragment in the appropriate display context.

3 White Paper Samsung AnyWeb Print Scrap Board Select the exact area you want to print Samsung AnyWeb Print gives you the ability to select the exact area you want to print and drag it to the scrap board. You can also just right-click on the selection and choose Move to Scrap Board. By treating the page as a captured image, you can select as little or as much as you want and move the selection to the scrap board for further manipulation. 3

4 Samsung AnyWeb Print White Paper Edit in Scrap Board Mode The scrap board not only displays your selections, but it also allows you to perform simple editing tasks. You can copy & paste, crop, resize, and move your selections without leaving the interface. Copy & Paste By right-clicking on a selection, you can perform copy and paste tasks or change the arrangement. Resize Resize any portion of what you have copied to suit your layout needs. Using the corner markers, you can resize your copied images to whatever size you want. Crop Only need part of what you have copied to the scrap board? Easily crop away the unneeded portion, leaving only what you need. Simply grab a side, top, or bottom marker, and move the border to crop away any portion of the image. Move To move an image, simply drag and drop it anywhere on the page. Gain complete control over your page layout by moving items to any place on the page, without restriction. 4

5 White Paper Samsung AnyWeb Print Edit in Full-Screen Mode The Full-Screen Edit mode gives you a larger view of your scrap board. In this mode, you can do the same simple editing tasks featured on the scrap board (resizing, cropping, copying, pasting, moving, arranging) to give you complete control with a better view. You can also adjust your margins, setup your page, load/save a scrap board, and print your pages from this screen. 5

7 White Paper Samsung AnyWeb Print Save and Reload Captured Content Save your pages in one of three available formats: W2P, TIFF, or PDF. With W2P format, you have the ability to reload web pages from the scrap board. By doubleclicking the mouse on the scrap board s content, the original web page will be opened in the browser. PDF format offers not only portability, but also the following other advantages: Read-only format (security) Smaller file size Font retention Searchable text ability Need to save multiple images you have added to your scrap board? Saving an image as a.tif file allows for portability and image integrity. The TIFF format offers the additional following advantages: Widely supported by almost all image-editing software Lossless file format Flexible format for handling images and data Need to pass information you have found on the internet along to a colleague quickly and easily? Being able to save your scrap board pages as a.pdf file gives you maximum portability of your information. 7

Scrap Board View With AnyWeb Print s scrap board, there are no surprises: what you see is what you get. A glance at the scrap board gives you an accurate view of what your created page will look like. 8

In this mode, you still get a preview of what your printed pages will look like - just larger and with more control. With the Full-Screen View, you can choose to view multiple pages at once and see how they will look together. 9

10 Samsung AnyWeb Print White Paper Preview View You can also access AnyWeb Print s Samsung AnyWeb Print Preview from Internet Explorer s File menu. Samsung AnyWeb Print Preview scales the currently viewed web page to fit onto the selected page size. You can also adjust the layout to suit your needs by scaling or adjusting the page s margins. A feature unique to AnyWeb Print Preview is the ability to scale the web page proportions by percentages to fit the web pages content onto the page. You can also select how to view the web page: fit-to-page, or multiple pages in columns. With these previewing capabilities, there will never be any guessing about what you get. 10
