6 First Year Qualify for a NCCER Electrical Apprenticeship Level One Certification High School Credit College Credit

7 College Credit Courses must be taken in sequence. Fall Semester ELC 113 This course introduces the care/usage of tools and materials used in residential electrical installations and the requirements of the National Electrical Code. Topics include NEC, electrical safety, and electrical print reading; planning, layout; and installation of electrical distribution equipment; lighting; overcurrent protection; conductors; branch circuits; and conduits. Upon completion, students should be able to properly install conduits, wiring, and electrical distribution equipment associated with residential electrical installations. This course meets the curriculum standards of the National Center for Construction Education and Research. 4 Credit Hours M/W/F, 8-11 AM SCC Advanced Technologies Building

8 College Credit Courses must be taken in sequence. Spring Semester ELC 114 This course provides instruction in the application of electrical tools, materials, and test equipment associated with commercial electrical installations. Topics include the NEC; safety; electrical blueprints; planning, layout, and installation of equipment and conduits; and wiring devices such as panels and overcurrent devices. Upon completion, students should be able to properly install equipment and conduit associated with commercial electrical installations. This course meets the curriculum standards of the National Center for Construction Education and Research. 4 Credit Hours M/W/F, 8-11 AM SCC Advanced Technologies Building

Emphasis is placed on beads applied with gases, mild steel fillers, and electrodes and the capillary ac.on of the solder. Upon comple.on, students should be able to set up welding and oxy- fuel equipment and perform welding, brazing and soldering processes. 2 Credit Hours Spring Semester WLD111 This course introduces the oxy- fuel welding process. Topics include safety, proper equipment setup, and opera.on of oxy- fuel welding equipment with emphasis on bead applica.on, profile, and discon.nui.es. Upon comple.on students should be able to oxy- fuel weld fillets and grooves on plate and pipe in various posi.ons. 2 Credit Hours
