6 Metallurgical engineers: Design manufacturing processes for complex components produced in state of the art alloy systems. Perform metallurgical analysis and problem shoot casting defects. Team with customers and Howmet facilities to create and manage development programs for new processes. Ceramic engineers: Use statistical analysis and sound engineering practices to improve ceramic core quality and dimensional consistency. Provide immediate engineering solutions for ceramic shell production problems. Analyze statistical measurements to assure process control in mold making. Engineering Curriculum The engineering training program offers you a chance to sample the rich variety that Howmet has to offer. The program is hands on from the start. Mechanical and Manufacturing engineers: Work with customers concurrently to engineer new designs for production. Measure casting dimensions and prevent deviations from customer requirements. Analyze and adapt new non destructive technologies for inspecting castings. Training Program curriculum Sales Curriculum sampler Our sales training program is designed to prepare an engineer as a highly technical Howmet Field Sales Representative. You work concurrently with customers to assure complete satisfaction while pursuing potential business opportunities... You participate in a rotational program that focuses on engineering, quality and sales. Process engineers: Oversee pre cast and casting procedures while conducting investigations relating to all areas of the casting process. Conduct investigations relating to processing problems, and obtain process approvals from customers. Product engineers: Handle overall product responsibility from inception to order completion, including any problems that might arise during production. Establish manufacturing sequences along with procedures and geometry of parts through the process. Interface with customers in design consultation, drawings and specifications. Sales: Directly support the customer s product needs and the operation s production demands. Maintain customer relations. Coordinate formal review of requests for quotations, customer purchase orders, contracts, specifications, blueprints, changes, revisions, quality and delivery requirements, and more.
