1 Jan Watt - Chairman Jan was a Director of Cooloola Regional Development Bureau from 2004 to 2008 and served as Chairman from 2007/08. When CRDB became Gympie Cooloola Tourism in 2008 Jan continued as a Director from 2008 to 2012, both terms served as a Councillor appointment. Jan was independently reelected to the current Board as Chairman in December 2012 as a GCT business member after her retirement from Council earlier in that year. Jan served two terms (eight years) in local Government with Cooloola Shire Council then the amalgamated Gympie Regional Council, stepping down in 2012 to pursue University studies and a consultancy business. During her time on Council Jan continually served on Tourism, Community, Cultural and Sports organisations and committees, all at Local and Regional and State Government levels. Jan has sat on State Government working parties developing parts of legislation for the new Local Government Act and for developing government community engagement practices. Jan has presented papers at several conferences on Community Development and Planning. Jan currently works as a Club Capacity Development Officer, consults through her business JanWatt.Com and advises on strategic and operational planning with organisations and clubs. In 2012 Jan was awarded the inaugural Queensland Rural Regional and Remote Women s Strong Leadership Award and was nominated for Gympie Women in Business Awards for her voluntary work for Not-for-Profits and in tourism. As owner of a seafood market for 16 years Julie further developed skills in business management and marketing. In recent years, her skills have been fine tuned in the transport and logistics sector as Owner/Manager of Karrabee Bus + Coach. Julie has held multiple executive positions over a long period of time in many local organizations including and she is a passionate advocate promoting this region and showcasing the region s natural beauty. 4 Jann Tuxford-Paterson - Treasurer Jann has been a Director of Gympie Cooloola Tourism since May Jann has over 26 years experience in the Tourism Industry, including supervising the Visitor Services Division of the Sydney Opera House, and 16 years with Tourism NSW in the Marketing & Communications Divisions. She was an active member in the marketing and planning committees for major events including the NSW Tourism Awards, Wine Australia, Sydney Opera House Honours, APEC and World Youth Day. Jann has vast experience in Tourism Marketing, Brand Management, Customer Service, Quality Training, Photography and Project Management. A long-term interest in Photography led Jann to set up Tourism NSW s original Image Library and her photography appears in numerous Tourism publications. Jann has also trained and supervised volunteers during some of Sydney s major events, including New Year s Eve and World Youth Day. Jann taught Cert IV in Tourism at the Sydney Institute of TAFE in NSW for six years and now teaches Tourism Cert III for AIBI on the Sunshine Coast and Gympie Cooloola. 5 Cassie Head Cassie has been a Director of Gympie Cooloola Tourism since December Cassie comes from a small business background primarily in the building industry where she spent the last 20 years as administrator/manager for her family business interests which include commercial and domestic glazing, commercial long line fishing. She also ran her own successful contract book keeping service on the Sunshine Coast. Cassie currently manages the current family business Rainbow Beach Hire-a-camp, a nature based environmentally sustainable holiday accommodation enterprise. Cassie is a passionate advocate for the Social Media Revolution and remains a committed activist to this cause for small business particularly in the tourism industry. She has been invited to present at various conferences on marketing in tourism and social media.
6 Gina Ostwald Gina has been a Director of Gympie Cooloola Tourism 2009/2010 and 2012/2013 Following a 43-year career as owner, operator and director of various small businesses, in various leadership positions in farming, drycleaning, real estate and tourist enterprises, Gina is at present owner operator of Eastwood Farm and a director of the Eastwood Famiy Trust enterprises (tourism, real estate development and mentoring) Gina has been involved in community development programs in the Northern Territory and Queensland and a member of various business organisations for many years in Queensland and the Northern Territory.
