1 PIMS Instructions for TWHP Certification and Attestation Certain providers must complete the Texas Women s Health Program (TWHP) Certification Form in order to provide services to TWHP clients. The TWHP certification form within the Provider Information Management System (PIMS) was updated recently. Providers with access to the TMHP secure portal can now do the following within PIMS: Complete the TWHP certification process and submit the certification form electronically. Providers who submit the certification form electronically are no longer required to mail a completed copy of the certification form that includes an original, handwritten signature. Indicate whether TWHP Family Planning Services are provided at each Texas Provider Identifier (TPI) level location. TWHP Family Planning Services include family planning physical exams, which may include Pap tests and screening for certain sexually transmitted infections (STIs), treatment of certain STIs and contraception services. Verify and correct contact information during the certification process. IMPORTANT: Providers certifying through the Provider Enrollment on the Portal (PEP) or paper will follow the existing process. Please refer to the Texas Medicaid Provider Procedures Manual (TMPPM). This guide provides instructions on how to certify using PIMS. 1) Go to the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) website at 2) Select providers in the upper left corner of the screen. v2014_0818 1

2 3) Select Log in to My Account in the upper right corner of the screen, and log in using your secure user name and password. 4) Under the Manage Provider Accounts heading, select Provider Information Management System. 2 v2014_0818

3 NOTE: The following screen will display if there are multiple NPIs attached to the user name entered. Providers will need to certify for each eligible NPI. A red message will be displayed if the provider has not attested or certified. 5) TWHP certification will be available in a new Attestation tab in PIMS. Click on the Attestation tab to complete the TWHP certification process. Click the Edit button and select the Certify for the current year check box to certify electronically. v2014_0818 3

4 6) Selecting the Yes, I affirm that the statements listed in the certification are true and correct checkbox will launch the certification statement automatically in a new window/tab (based on Windows configuration). Click the Continue button to view additional requirements prior to completing certification. 4 v2014_0818

5 7) The Texas Women s Health Program section will hide and a TWHP Family Planning Services (FPS) and Address Verification section will expand. Providers are required to select Yes or No to respond to the TWHP Family Planning Services Attestation question for all Texas Provider Identifiers (TPIs) associated with the National Provider Identifier (NPI). Required fields are indicated by a red dot. A yellow triangle will appear if a required selection is not made. v2014_0818 5

6 8) Providers also are required to select Yes or No to respond to the Address Update column as part of the attestation process. To indicate that the address requires updates, click the Yes radio button in the Address Update column to make the fields editable and display with a yellow background. To indicate that the address is accurate, click the No radio button option to disable the address fields. NOTE: It is extremely important to review the Physical Address of Service listed for each TPI to ensure accuracy. This information will be included in the TWHP Online Provider Look-up, (located at which is available to clients who are searching for a provider. 6 v2014_0818

7 9) Required fields are indicated by a red dot. A yellow triangle will appear if a required selection is not made. If the Yes button was selected in the Address Update column but the Physical Address of Service field was not updated, the address fields will change to a light red background. Remember, by selecting No in the Address Update column, you are indicating that the address is accurate. By selecting Yes, you are indicating that the address needs to be updated. 10) Once the TWHP FPS and Address Verification section is complete, click the Save button at the bottom of the section. v2014_0818 7

8 11) The TWHP FPS and Address Verification section collapses when the Save button is clicked. The Texas Women s Health Program section will then expand and, if all sections are complete, clicking the Save button will finalize the TWHP certification. If the user accidently or intentionally navigates away from this page without saving, a warning message will be displayed. 12) Providers who submit the certification form electronically are no longer required to mail a completed copy of the certification form. The provider s certification date and status information will display in the provider s current Texas Women s Health Program (TWHP) certification grid. 8 v2014_0818

9 NOTE: Once a provider has certified for the current year, the following options will appear: Change certification for the current year Certify for next year Once a provider s certification status is updated, no further action is required; however if a provider wants to make a change to the current year s certification, a provider may do so by selecting the Change certification for the current year check box. v2014_0818 9
